You cannot benefit from suicide. And as long as you’re not the one who murdered the person then yes you can still collect. I haven’t watched it all yet but seeing comments I’m assuming she got away with it? Hence the civil suit. He was extremely knowledgeable about kayaking. Surprised he didn’t notice the plug missing. But an experienced kayaker like himself they usually know how to flip themselves back over. Makes me think she continued to “aid” him to assure he drowned.Ike held the kayak upside down so he couldn’t flip back over. Mind you I never read anything saying he was upside down but it’s the only thing that makes sense. If he was right side up and just started sinking he could’ve gotten himself out. Unless as I said she did something to ensure he’d drown. I thought I saw pic of him kayaking before all this and he had on his life jacket. Just sickening. I mean, why? What a waste! All he did was love her and give her everything. How frightened and confused he must have been when he realized she was killing him! Sick bitch. And the cartwheels? Well. Everyone grieved differently and that’s just circumstantial technically. I’ve seen ppl laugh at funerals or death it’s just their uncontrollable response. So we can’t technically say that makes her guilty. But in my book, it sure does. She was celebrating the money she would get. Thankfully it appears she didn’t benefit from killing that sweet man.

@@geeangeles6600 because once charges are filed against someone it’s all but impossible to come out of a trial with a not guilty verdict. The court system is structured until vital defense information can be disallowed. An example is self defense. A judge can rule to disallow information showing the victims past history of stalking, threatening, harassment, etc., which allows the one single then to presented to a jury. That single event, minus the history, convicts innocent people all the time. So the attorney may have known it would be impossible to win or you could be right and he just wanted his hands on the money. There isn’t a lot of justice in the justice system tho.

It's interesting how a conman (or conwoman) can pull the wool over the eyes of the unsuspecting. Picture it: he was acting tough and strong - for her - and never suspected that if he did go in the drink (and why would that even happen?) OF COURSE she would be right there by his side with her kayak to save him from harm. I mean, it wasn't even a thought! The skillful conman is like a magician, deftly guiding the thoughts and attention of the audience, creating a (false) narrative in their mind. It's so easy and fun for them - it's like taking candy from a baby! Again, it IS TRUE that the audience of the magician is complicit in their own deception - because part of them WANTS TO BE FOOLED. The magician's "magic" is quickly dispersed and dispelled by a critical, thinking, analytical, distrustful mind. But he was not that to her. He WANTED to be fooled. Love is blind. Imagine his shock and surprise when, sinking into the icy water, instead of coming to his aid, she paddled AWAY from him instead. Imagine the terrible surprise. The card WAS the ace of spades, the marble was NOT under the second coconut, the assistant was in the box THE ENTIRE TIME.

Why can’t you swim in the Hudson? 🤷♀️
@s3rye3065 ай бұрын
@@kathrynbillinghurst188 You can swim in the hudson. It's just how wide the hudson is and how dangerous the currents are. Especially where they went. Also the water is freezing. Swimming in freezing water decreases your body temperature rapidly. After 20 minutes of swimming, he would be exhausted and freezing. Hypothermia only takes 20-30 minutes to start to kick in and an hour to start being fatal. That's just sitting in freezing water.

You guys are wrong. They had no evidence, except her own confession, which she kept changing. She ultimately said, "I wanted him to die, he died, and I'm okay with it." There's nothing illegal about that, hoping that someone will die. If she had kept her stupid mouth shut, she'd never have been charged with anything. They HAD to let her plead guilty to criminally negligent homicide, with a light sentence. Otherwise, she'd have been convicted of nothing. They simply had no evidence to convict her of murder. It had nothing to do with her race or gender.
