How can you tell a person with anxiety, to relax! That was very rude
@thelanguageofthebirds2 жыл бұрын
Makes my anxiety higher when I’m told to “relax, calm down”. little do people know symptoms are neurological responses to environmental threats hardwired into our dna for evolutionary survival. For me, I have complex ptsd which causes massive anxiety when people try and talk me down from my flashbacks, anxiety and panic attack. The best thing people can do for me is be open minded, compassionate and non judgemental. They can educate themselves via the marvellous modern day tool called “the internet”!

@@karenglenn6707 I'm so sorry to hear about your Nanna. Sometimes strokes happen and there is no recourse. In a hospital, though, there would be instant life-saving measures taken with the help of multiple departments and there are "clot-busting" medications available...if the stroke is from a clot. It not have made any difference for your Nanna, but for the vast majority of people, lives can be saved if something like a stroke happens in a medical facility. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Smile and nod. Sometimes that’s all you can do. It’s often sad how folklore medicine can cause so much stress for people. Edit: the internet is awful in some ways because it’s medical information is so broad and unscientific that people read it and apply it to themselves without knowing the whole picture. It’s good to be informed but don’t read something and attempt to diagnose yourself.
