Love this information, but confused about why you keep bringing up gender identity in multiple interviews. Gender identity and biological sex are two different things and I think you are doing more harm than good in making digs at communities who are already horribly discriminated against and face violence. Don’t know why you keep doing that.

Went to a PT who said lots of people walk around with bone on bone and don’t need a replacement. Really? Worked hard on strengthening my muscles around my knee suddenly no knee pain. This totally makes sense!

SO .... your podcasts have motivated me so much that I have for the past six months been consistently exercising with a focus on weight training .. I am estrogen dominant - recent blood work has revealed off the chart levels so for me, exercise is non-negotiable. It literally will mean my life as excess estrogen causes all sorts of issues from unwanted facial hair on women to cancer. I have lost two inches off my waist, belly and hips!!! My endurance has improved and I love my kettle bell workouts now! But the most wonderful benefit so far is that my liver enzymes have gone down from 49 to 20! Thank you Mike for doing these podcasts - it has helped me greatly to get my mind right to stay on a path to a healthier version of myself. 🙂

I have personal trainer sessions twice weekly, where we focus on strength training - working all muscle groups in succession. Then, I do at home kettle bell work outs twice weekly to help reinforce my focus on strength training. I also swim laps once weekly usually on Sundays. As for nutrition, I have added DIM, NAC, and curcumin to help my body metabolize the excess estrogen. I have blood work twice yearly to monitor my levels.

Dr. Tyna is spot on about vegan/vegetarianism - I was in the same boat. I distinctly remember a low-point when a fat primary care doctor was simultaneously praising me for my extrodinarily low cholestrol (and mentioning my low iron and protein and told me to take iron(which doesn't work)) as she wrote me another perscription for an anti-depressant.... Truth is, protein, fat, cholesterol = LIFE GIVING FOOD. It is also so hard to find a naturopathic doctor in PNW nowadays, they push "the juice".

I’ve been trying to lose weight and have tried many different diets. I tried to go vegan and felt so sick. Dizzy. Fatigued. Etc. I gave up and had a steak. The next day I looked and felt like a different person! My cheeks were flushed with health. And my mood improved. My work out and lifting are energized. I’m always going to have enough protein through whole foods from now on.
@GaryHighFruit2 жыл бұрын
"my low iron and protein ... anti-depressant" I bet you weren't eating enough (common with women). That is THE only way to be low in protein. There are FRUITARIANS who lift weights and have big muscles. I purposefully eat a low-protein diet (vegan 27 years), and I have not lost strength. I'm doing fine. Excess protein promotes cancer, and metabolic problems. And I've concluded that much of the depression is really lack of calories. That doctor suggested you need meat to get sufficient protein. That is so false. So no, she is not spot on.

@@GaryHighFruit I agree with you, I’ve been vegan for years. Lately I started eating meat again, I never felt bad being vegan, but I’m just coming across so much stuff that it’s hard to figure out what’s true. Each to their own- I healed a herniated disc (that was causing severe pain for over a year)- by eating raw vegan and practising a lot of yoga for a few months. Nowadays I eat a Mediterranean diet (vegetables, fish, eggs, dairy) and I feel good. I live in Italy where produce is really high quality and pace of life is slow and relaxed. I have a theory that vegans that live in regions with high soil quality fare way better. Vegans in the US, minus Hawaii , tend to have very poor results. I also think your genetics come into play. I used to be a vegan and had terrible results, but it seems people who’s ancestors are close or closer to the equator also do better with veganism. A rheumatologist told me some eight or so years ago to never run, only walk, or it would hurt my joints further. I started building muscle through carnivore a couple of years ago, and a month ago I just suddenly knew one day (just knew it) that I should do some short runs in my walk. And I did. And within the first two runs (and I am talking only 0.1 miles of running) my joints had 99% relief. My hips are fine now. I had started worrying about replacement. My right knee needs a little more time to fully heal, but is so much better. I can go down stairs just fine now. I can get into an Asian squat (could only barely stoop down before). Having built muscle, listening to my body's plea for activity and getting just a little running in has turned the tide for me. I'm 65. Getting healthier with these tools.

I stumbled across this chat and am so encouraged by this lady. We are similar in ways. I have done strength training for many years on and off and at the age of 62 am proud to stand out from the norm. What has always kept me on the straight and narrow is the fact that I lived with Hep C for nearly 30 years ... (By the time it was eradicated I was in stage 3). I was eventually free and so relieved to have a new lease on life. With much gratitude to the higher powers that be, I kept up the good work and maintained an organic based diet. However, 5 years on, contracted Ross river/Epstein Barr virus and so my immune system began to attack itself with rheumatoid arthritis. (Genetically inherent from my mother) and the same old chronic fatigue I used to get with liver disease came back with a vengeance and found I was no longer able to weight-train due to what is called "Post exertion fatigue!" ... The integrated doctors I saw could only do so much and over time I experimented with diet sometimes making the symptoms worse! Completely over the chronic pain in my feet and calve muscles, I decided to try a ketovore diet consisting of two big hearty meals with plenty of grass fed meat twice a day finishing my last one around 4pm. No hunger whatsoever until 16 - 18 hours later. What has also helped immensely is breath-work and cold immersion, daily. (Even if its only 5 minutes) has had a swift and positive impact on my general well-being and cognition. It is only early days with this new experiment and believe this will be the answer to my problem.

my dads 96 and had the jnj ivax n the beginning....no boosters...and when he finally got the newest variant he plowed through it like a champ...my sibling and I had no vax and are his caregivers and we both got it as well.....it took about three weeks for all of us to get better, one right after the other, but we all made it through with no doctor visits....just lots of water and fluids, some walks, vita c and d, L-lysine and lots of rest.

I could not agree more with every topic discussed in the presentation, well worth every minute of this presentation. Americans can’t tolerate any discomfort in any way-‘give me a pill’.

She would LOVE a squat machine like the Squatmax MD or the Rogue Rhino. It would allow her squat so much without fear of injuring her back.

I have many of the same "funny" bodily challenges - gut, genetic metabolic/mitochondria disorders, many courses of antibiotics as a young child, etc....just so nice to listen to people who get it!

So good about “owning” autoimmune conditions. I know that I need strength and conditioning training. Thanks for the encouragement!

I wish you guys would specify weather your hormones that are being taken are bioidentical or synthetic. From what I've read bioidentical hormones should only have the effects of naturally occurring hormones but synthetic ones tend to have side effects of varying degrees.

This lady inspired me to start working out a few years ago, and for the right reasons as a mature woman. Looking forward to listening to this one. And Dr Tyna looks great!

Any advice on how to train for doing sprints on a treadmill? I get not living by your illness but more often than not the weather keeps me inside due to it triggering major pain (TN & ON). Thanks

The thought by many people out there that the vid is the same as smallpox and polio in terms of vaxes is just crazy. It is like the cold and flu, it will be around forever and we will deal. I personally will exercise, diet and get my vitamins. So far since increasing my vitamin D drastically I have not gotten sick with anything, but then again I’ve increased in all good habits.

I agree with a lot of what you say...however herniated discs do not always heal themselves. I was almost paralyzed by thinking that. Both my legs became numb and I couldn't move them. I have spinal stenosis and when a disc herniated it's a big deal. I do agree with most of this content.

Had the same thing happen. Needed an emergency microdiscectomy. Depends on the severity of the herniation. Wish she’d be more forthright about that.

You have spinal stenosis though. Herniated discs without complications heal. Two different things. I hate when people do this it’s annoying.
