Full coverage of the semi-finals in the women's 200m event as the USA's Allyson Felix, Caremlita Jeter and Sanya Richards-Ross and Jamaica's Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Veronica Campbell-Brown all advance to the final.
Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

Randall Hill I know the comment is pretty old, that’s because the Olympics didn’t have the rights to post full videos on KZbin. NBC had those rights, how fucked up is that!

even if campbell would have concentrate only on the 200....she still wouldnt have beaten felix ...felix was way too strong in this olympic ... maybe vcb could have get a silver ....if she was atleast in a 22.00 shape ...maybe we could have atleast seen a 21.70 by felix ......and if Felix did only ran the 200 ...she could have got a 21.60 ..she is soooo fast

@joelmiller4129
@joelmiller4129 6 жыл бұрын
bjseraus I kinda disagree becuz when VCB won both her Olympic titles her 100 times were never as fast as 10.81 which she did to get the bronze. She clearly was in very fast shape. What she lacked was endurance. And 200m is both speed and enduring that speed. Had she focus more on her endurance she would have won. She came off the curve in the lead with Shelly. And has never come of the curve ahead and lost.
@ranhill62
@ranhill62 6 жыл бұрын
Joel Miller no way Felix was losing this race, even if VCB was in peak form. This was the best Felix had ever been. She ran in FOUR olympic finals, won 3 of them, and set a personal best in the 100 final at 10.89

Guys, what is the difference between Q and q??
@stevebbuk
@stevebbuk 3 жыл бұрын
Q is automatic qualification for the next round (so in this race finishing in first or second position). The small q means that the athlete has qualified for the next round by the next best time of all the competitors who did not qualify by right.

"Q" means automatic qualification to the next level. Whereas the "q" determines one's fate among the those who didn't qualify automatically but having a better time among the least times
