@@jamesnazon8714 It depends on which ranking you are looking at. 😏 Małgorzata Hołub is the only member of this line-up who was a part of the team that won the silver medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha. The rest of the girls (Justyna Święty, Iga Baumgart, Patrycja Wyciszkiewicz and Anna Kiełbasińska) were not able to compete for various reasons. That was lactic burn not an injury, then your legs are screaming to stop ;) 3rd Polish athlete had the same in the last corner. Besides the falling at the end, Dopheide ran a good time for what she is capable atm. Lisanne was just tripping or touched by another athlete during the last switch. Femke almost mastered to overcome the lactic burn at the end, thats why she is so fast in the 2nd 200m. Priomising for the outdoor relays next month :)

Poland was in a tough situation. Iga Baumgart, Patrycja Wyciszkiewicz and Anna Kiełbasińska could not be called to the team because of health problems. Additionally Justyna Święty sustained an injury just before this race. In the last moment she had to be replaced by Aleksandra Gaworska (she was terrified!). So even before the race it was clear that the Polish team with only one regular (Małgorzata Hołub) could not win and would be fighting for the bronze medal. Under these conditions that medal was a success. Of course the strongest Polish lineup would have won this race.

Accusing entire teams of doping just because they're doing well is just gross. The biggest competition, the Polish women's team, was dealing with injuries. The Polish men's team had positive covid tests and couldn't participate. Sifan Hassan is originally from Ethiopia, where a lot of running talent comes from. Dutch athletics started changing its approach and getting more attention in training 15 years ago and now it's giving results. When Britain was dominating track cycling it probably wasn't suspicious, but now that the Netherlands is winning prices it suddenly is suspicious? What bullshit.

It’s an affluent, cohesive society with a great work ethic and sense of spirit. The former (plus genetics) means a healthy pool of tall and strong athletes. It doesn’t hurt that everyone cycles to get around. The latter factor is often displayed via genuine joy at competing together and for their country and the sport itself - but it also comes out in a can-do ability to adjust tactics to their strengths. Dutch football, too, has been innovative and successful beyond the country’s size. And sometimes you get truly world-class even generational athletes - or two. I think all of the teams represented themselves and their countries with class and looked good doing it. These are spectacular athletes pushing their bodies to the limit. I’d be more likely to believe Femke Bol is an actual gazelle that I’d believe she or her teammates dope to get ahead.

Didn't the Poles have a couple of different runners than in previous years?

Yes. But at that time Poland was in a tough situation. Iga Baumgart, Patrycja Wyciszkiewicz and Anna Kiełbasińska could not be called to the team because of health problems. To make things worse just before this race Justyna Święty (the Polish anchor) torn her quadriceps and had to be replaced. So it is safe to say that this line-up was improvised at the last minute.
