Parker Valby is the best ever. Valby ran 19:17 in the cold and rain last year. Valby still has the fastest time on this course.

The winner ran a tactically brilliant race hanging just behind till 4k then burning away to win easily. Interesting it seemed so evenly paced.

What a great race for our Canadian athletes who natches three of the top 6 spots! Congratulations for Sadie (not Sophie, that's her older sister) Sigsftead and Erin Vringer. Sans oublier les deux fiertés de la ville de Québec, Florence Caron qui a fait toute une course et Marika Couture qui a très bien fait à ses débuts universitaires!

Kara'a commentary is very realistic. I saw NC State's outing this weekend when they came in second to Alabama with Grace Hartman as the possible Wolfpack low stick, ahead of Hannah Gapes, the New Zealander, and, 2023 NCAA D3 champion Fiona Smith scoring third. Their forth in was Angelina Napolion, who still has the three fastest girl steeple times ever and who has run a 2:03. Alll-star freshman class of 2024 recruit Ellie Shea was 5th And, Laurie Henes is hiding her candle under a bushel. Still, Alabama's years-long scout program in Kenya is paying off. This year, 'Bama may win the team and individual titles with Doris in front . Once again, in this weekend's race, Grace was the first non-African in.I think the coming domination of the Kenyan runners who are participating in the NCAA effectively as minor leaguers for the pros is good, because it will push the American girls to new levels. I like it.

111424 Just rewatched this. Nuttycombe suffered for having such an early date. Kara was great looking for good things to say about the second-tier runners and how their achievemnet strengthens their programs and elevates the sport. Still, I wonder what a Nuttycombe of the Tuohy-Valby era would have looked like here.

The most unaware announcers in any sport.. Don care who jumps out into the early lead... Don’t care when the 1st and 2nd place runners are battling for the race’s biggest moment... Don’t mention the lead change for .5 km.... Get a clue on how to create some excitement 😳

I've watching these races recently and don't understand why the runners (women or men) stop and bunch up at the finish line. They've been racing for years, yet they all just stand or collapse there. I know many have put everything into the race, but can't seem to go another 20 feet and get out of the way.

A bunch of lazy runners ima tell you. Imagine laying on the ground after only running 6k. Weak. Whats your 5k pr mate @katboy2607 ?

The camera zoom makes it look like there is a lot less space than there really is. The 2nd place finisher was *_20 strides_* past the finish line before going out of frame. Early in the race, the main pack was probably only about 80 strides apart at a width only about 1/4 of the finish line width. So really, there's plenty of room for everyone from the finish line to about 20 strides past. Not nearly as congested as it might appear. It looks like some coaches and aids come in to provide support, but other runners and coaches are moving out, so everything is chill except for your anxiety.

@@katboy2607 ur sprinting and then when u hit that finish line it’s kind of like ur body has a mind of it’s own. It either gives out, or you wobble around, or ur able to get out of the way. Also sometimes a race is so disappointing ur so mentally exhausted when u finally finish u just need a minute even if it isn’t in the best spot😂
