Bonora's vault was sensational! Sure, it wasn't the hardest vault, but her form in the air was great, with the landing, just a pop back, but it was really great!

Besides the dismount, Preziosa's beam was soooooo good! I wish I saw more like it, it was so beautiful and creative, didn't look like she was just working through a bunch of skills.

Shannon isn't horrid as a commentator! I love how she actually comments on what the skills are that the gymnasts are performing, and she is very encouraging of all the girls. Tim, Elfi, and Al, on the other hand, don't often have much to say during performances except for abrupt comments on deductions, unless it's the USA girls (in which case there's tons of hype) or the Russia girls (in which case they can't shut up about the "divas" & behavior).

It's a line and a letter 'D' to indicate where abouts on the beam the gymnast has to start their dismount. If you watch the first gymnast on beam from Poland when she made her dismount her hands lined up with the mark on the beam.

Yeh I would say it was to stop her from falling off the apparatus she just needed to do that to get over the bar and not fall off. It was to get her over the top of the bar to complete the forward giant she should incur a deduction as it is technically incorrect.

Countries that had full teams in Qualifications either qualified those full teams at the previous Worlds or at the Test Event. This year Team USA, Team China, Team GB, Team Russia, Team Italy, Team Canada, Team Japan, and Team Netherlands qualified full teams at Worlds last year because they finished in the top eight. Just a few days ago at the test event Team Brazil, Team Germany, Team Belgium, and Team France all qualified teams at the Test Event. Individual athletes also qualified at the test event. That makes up the mixed groups :)

I don't understand the scoring on beam. That one girl that got an 11.73 and she stayed on the beam the entire time some wobbles here and there but the other girl got a 12.18 and she fell off the beam! I don't get it...

The athlete who stayed on had a large wobble in the middle of her acrobatic series, which means that she did not connect the elements. She would lose connection bonus, and have an additional penalty for not including two connected acrobatic elements.

It's not in mirror image, but some countries are mainly lefties... the Chinese team has NEVER had a righty and Russia tends to have more lefties than righties. North America, South America, and Africa tend to be more righties while Europe and Asia tend to have more lefties, but sometimes it depends :)
