Practice, practice, practice. If you think it is easy, you don't understand reality. Train like your life depends on it, because it does

In my neighborhood thats just exactly how girl gangs would fight by grabbing your hair from the front when your facing them in a fight. The only reason they are able to get your pony tail or the back of your hair is when you would lean forward during the fight to cover your face this gives the other girl time to grab her hair and yank her downward, to knock her off her feet. So they can kick and puch her on the ground. Thats why girl street fights, always go for the hair cuz its long and in the way and its easier to bring you down. Another move girls use in street fighting is, by pulling the other girls shirt off to try to humiliate her and give up the fight.

Imagine if a girl took her shirt off like a boy and said let's fight. Wonder if the other girl would say your crazy and punk out.

That was great, I've never seen pressure testing of hair grabs before. It was interesting that the wristlock worked better than the armbar (I'd call it wakigatame), and I think I've spotted why. When someone grabs, they pull as well, bending their arm like a bicep curl - you can see this in the two real life clips near the start. It's only when your attacker offers a straight arm that you can rotate it for the armbar. Plus - love the Mas Oyama quote!

This is a complete joke. Doesn’t work. War tactics don’t win battles. I had someone wrap their fist around my hair three times to my skull out in the country drag me around for 2 minutes I used elbow jab techniques, wing Chun, everything, and still this country bull wouldn’t let me go. The only way I got loose was two people that she liked pulled her hand from my hair.

I love that you posted this even though it appears to be very difficult to defeat a hair pull. The puller has almost total control because of how painful it is. What about trying joint manipulation on the fingers or thumb? I think that might force a quick release.

Thank you for your comment. It would be great idea if you can hold and do finger lock.

It is exceedingly difficult to gain control of a finger that is both balled into a fist and enmeshed in hair
@ronwalker392
@ronwalker392 Жыл бұрын
One variation is to, if you can, pull the opponents fist into your head with both hands as hard as you can. Firstly this prevents them from pulling your hair, second it can compress their knuckles weakening their grip, lastly, if you get your feet under you, you can move to a better position to apply techniques. Regardless, tough pickle to be in.

People don't fight one on one anymore. You can see 2-3 girls going berserk against one. And people just recording or standing there doing nothing.😞😟

Hi Everyone, This is HAPKIDO Women's self defense techniques tutorial against hair grabbing and pulling. We have tried realistic training with our female students. It was hard for them to execute the techniques. Try to learn those two techniques and practice many many times with a partner. Please leave comments if you have any questions or if you want to see techniques from other situations. Appreciate for your support.

REALITY CHECK. The time to react is when the attacker is REACHING to grab. NOT AFTER they have grabbed. Awareness is the key. This works.

Another move girls use in street fighting is, by pulling the other girls shirt off to try to humiliate her to giving up the fight. They're rude and cowardly because some times its one against 3,4,or 5. If self defence classes would be open to teaching karate not only to students who want to be in profesional karate fight. But also, to those who really want to protect themselfs from street bullies who have nothing better to do but start fights. Of coarse the rules of karate would also apply to those who dont want to be in it profesionally. But want to learn more than just the basics. Because there's a lot of single mothers who have to defend themselves from the elements of this dark world or while walking alone or from being raped in their own home. Its scary to think your not prepared for the unknown but it would be nice that the Karate teachers would take this into consideration. If some havent already.

Non if these will work in a real fight. In a real fight you have to do illegal stuff to get your beat your opponent. You will have to break her arm and choke her unconscious. To control the fight if you're fighting multiple girls you will have to strike them with something heavy and blunt. Street fights are not fair and you have to take that into consideration. If its a guy take him down put him in an arm bar and break his arm. If not get a good choke angle on him get him in a guillotine and choke him unconscious. Its not fair and its ugly but your life could depend on it.

I absolutely guarantee if I grab someone by the hair they are not getting out of it. Anyone who is serious will use your hair to keep you off balance until you fall, and then it's over.

I exoerimented with this when i was a young man in Hapkido class and had longer hair than the ladies in The clip. Tried stuff from both Hapkido and other arts when whe had free training. The main problem in my opinion with defending against hairgrabs is that most people, especiallly females with long Nice hair percieve the pain as way worse than it is because they almost panic at the taught of ruining their hair. We were a few male metal heads in that class with long and not very good looking hair and we went wild when we practised defending against each others grabs. We didnt care about a lot of our hair being pulled out by The roots. We used our neck, head and hair to give us extra leverage in The techniques. One female student told us we were cracy ruining our hair like that. Whatever, it grows out again. If you wanna get good at defending hair grabs you must sacrafice some hair when practicing it.
