My hubby uses these moves when he was working in a hospital for code blacks. They are very effective.

Yes, these work great for controlling unruly patron or drunk relatives at Christmas.

this the kind of stuff i'd completely forget under pressure

Practice these a few times, especially the come-alongs in the first part of the video. They are surprisingly quick to learn. These are best use on someone who is unruly and causing a scene, but not yet to the point of an all out fight.

As a former bouncer you are exactly right, and they aren't just going to let you do that.
@df58266 ай бұрын
@@dabunnyrabbit2620 As a martial artist, you're incorrect and need to spend time practicing. Muscle memory is a real thing but it takes time and effort in order for the technique to become second nature.

These types of locks are probably useless while standing or striking. There’s just too much movement. But if you already have the person on the ground and you know what to do when you’re on the ground, I think finger locks could be very useful. Other than that, truthfully, you would forget most everything under pressure. Hopefully, you’ve been training enough for your instincts to take over.

I can look at it all day, but until I practice it, it won't become automatic for me.

That's true, you definitely need to try these a few times to get the hang of it. Hopefully you have someone to practice with.

@@FightFast Thanks! Not at the moment, but hopefully I can find like minded people to practice with.

In Martial Arts we train for years or all life. These “Bouncer” techniques you can learn fast, for employment. But Keep in mind as said, Bouncers work in a team, and are sober, against usually one customer that is intoxicated. Bouncers are not necessarily trained Martial Artist.

The wrist lock when the person grabs your chest, should include some softening and control techniques so that in real life they CAN'T get away once you've grabbed their hand. If you use your free hand to push down on the crook of their arm it causes them to come toward you, off balance, and your free hand is already in position to adjust the elbow and shoulder away from you. You can also pin their hand to your chest, and bow. It creates a neat little wrist lock and it'll drop someone to their knees pretty quickly and effectively. Small Circle style Jujitsu is a great art. ;)
