Real talk, I'm married, but I've always wondered: has anyone ever successfully picked a woman up at the gym? I was always so paranoid about making women who were just trying to workout uncomfortable or looking like a creep. I can't imagine anything more embarrassing than asking a woman out, her saying no, and then having to see her again at the gym. In 2018 I had a cute nurse taking care of me for an entire week as I recovered from a massive surgery at a VA hospital. We joked around every single day and had amazing chemistry. On my last day there, I was extremely disappointed because she wasn't working. I was disgusted with myself for not asking her out and I knew it would haunt me forever, but I didn't want to make her uncomfortable if she didn't feel the same way or if she was just being nice. Nobody wants to be that delusional guy who thinks that the waitress is into him and completely misreads the situation. Anyways, on my last day in the hospital, a different nurse asked if there was anything I needed before I left and I said "Yea, my previous nurse's phone number would be great!" and we both chuckled. Three days later I got a text saying "Hey, this is Nikki". Apparently she did feel the same way and was bummed that I didn't ask her out. She was eating lunch with my other nurse who told her what I had said. Long story short, she broke some rules and looked up my info to get my number. We got married in 2021. I genuinely can't imagine my life without her, and it scares me to think that none of this might have existed had my other nurse not mentioned what I had said...all because I was too afraid to speak up.

Wife here. If you want single events to be successful, let the men join in for free, and women pay the ticket. A fun fact, compliment men, for example: you have a nice smile, beautiful eyes, a great outfit choice looking sharp, trust me. When i was single, smiled, and complimented men, the men were very much gentlemen. I, of course, wore modest clothes. I learned through all my male relatives by giving me advice on what men actually wanted. Some of my gf's were perplexed on how so many men bought me drinks, talked about American history, our rights, and how we all hated paying taxes. It's easy. Never once did i ask, who much do you make? I actually ask about God. Boy, did so many men share their favorite scripture of the Bible. I try to give the same advice to single ladies, but it all falls on deaf ears.

On a more serious note, it is sad that so many men and women have so little trust in each other, and so little hope. We have allowed ourselves to be demoralized by those who would have us be so (I almost wish I didn't know so much about evil, tactics, idea's, and specific applications of such tactics). But I cannot judge others for being demoralized, I am pretty demoralized, and slow to trust myself. For example, I am not surprised when am immigrant commits a crime in my city, because they are sadly the usual culprits. I don't treat them differently in my daily life, but there is a negative expectation that exists domestically. I think its accurate to say that a lot of people recognize and rise above their biases, but most people are to some narrow degree, a little bit racist because a lot it boils down to pattern recognition.
