My favorite thing about this is that all the woman have different shapes, not just different sizes. Usually plus sized women in media have a very specific shape, big boobies, wide, hips thick thighs, smaller waist and belly, and that shape is held up as an example of a body positive image even though not all plus sized women are shaped that way. some plus sized women have small boobies, or are top heavy with bigger bellies, and thinner thighs and legs, and all of that is represented here so good job Glamour. What sucks is that the only girl who didn’t have a dress that fit her was the thinnest one. As much as it’s incredible to see larger sizes added to mainstream brands, it’s totally just as necessary to create appropriate sizing for really petite people. Not that I myself am particularly large or small at all (I’m a US6-8), but I just wish everyone would have clothes available to them that fit them how they’d like!
@Viradectus3 жыл бұрын
Petite is also very specifically cut, it's not just a case of being small framed - there are very long/tall women like myself at 5'9 and over who fit a size 6/8 uk: petite is made for small and short women so although they fit around the waist, they sit too high and/or too tight on the shoulders legs and hips. I've also found that tall cut clothes don't cater to the curvier side, and good luck trying to find high waisted tall cut jeans! Honestly, the best thing we could do is introduce sewing back into school... and make tailoring more mainstream.

I hate the movement of “zero is not a size”. I’m all for accepting all body types, especially in the modeling industry, but it’s unfair to help boost up one size by bringing down another. @r.b79793 жыл бұрын
@@amyturner2034 the black is not esential or anything like that. Its just a lot easier to find the right black scarf than any other ones and theyre often a go to because you can wear any outfit with them. Theres a joke actually about us hijabis wearing black no matter what, almost like we live by it 😂 For some women the colour doesnt matter but the idea of patters do because they want it to be as plain as possible which us often why a lot of niqabis stick to plain black and blues and so on(theyre also easier to find) . I believe its because they perfer not to add pretty patterns as they wish to not enhance their beauty but cover it completely. Theres also a hadith if im not mistaken where it describes a few hijabi women who were covered. I think it described them like black ravens so some women just enjoy following the footsteps of women of the past which is interesting. Hope this helps.❤

We went to the leader of the carnival and he said “i don’t think that women should show off their bodies but i don’t condone their behavior” and he gave me and my friends free stuffed animals. There was even a lady yelling at us and that’s kinda sad because she should’ve been on our side but instead she was probably jealous because we looked good. It made me so happy to see smaller girls. Nowadays, especially for black girls, it’s all about being thick. I’m not super thin and I’m not average, and tbh the face of beauty is no longer being skinny, especially on Instagram lol. It’s all about being thicc. I also feel as though every other skinny girl has a better figure than me. Like I’d kill for my shape to at least look like the size 2 girl.

@AngelGoneRogue6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Possibly the worst colour Glamour could have chosen. I love greys but this one is just such a meh tone. The whole point of body cons in my eyes is to make a statement, the colour should have some punch. That said, I suppose the bland colour means you focus on the actual fit and shape which works for the purpose of the video.

@@trishab2147 Spot on Trisha! I was racking my brain to try and find a good description for it and you just hit the nail on the head! I actually think all of them would look better in a red, black or dark green color body suit. The black would create a better silhouette for all of the women regardless of body shape. At the end of the day I find each of these women beautifully brave to put themselves out there like this. I'm very humbled. The whole time I was watching this all I could think about was accessorizing each one of these women including hairstyles, makeup and nails not to mention jewelry, etc....giggles

We need more skinny people being represented. Like I’m all here for the curvy woman, and the concept of heavier women being gorgeous is just recently being embraced (🙌🙏) but some of the negativity has shifted towards people being “too skinny” for today’s standards. and it hurts, especially when people get upset when skinny people exclaim the fact that they have insecurities, or complain about being too skinny. I’m in no way supporting eating disorders or people who find skinniness in unnatural ways, I’m talking about girls who have a difficult time gaining and maintaining weight, short, medium and tall.

Where are the women with muscles?? I'm going to argue that the muscled female physique is far more ignored than plus size in modern beauty standards. Let's just leave skinny out of this particular argument because these comments about thin women not being given a chance are just hilarious. Athletic women get a lot of hate for our bodies being "too masculine" so if you want to be all inclusive in these kind of videos you need to represent us too
