Because if they are resorting to ultimatums the relationship is already dead and it won't matter if you pick her it's just a matter of time before things break down or she issues more ultimatums. It also depends what it is. If you develop a habbit to drink alot and act out. If you let yourself go extremely. Your partner tries hard to talk and get you off of it. And fix whatever causes it but you decide to push them away. Refusing to realize and fix the issue then ultimata can actually be a legit way to motivate positive change. If its taking aways a normal beloved activity from a partner that manages to forfill all their chores and duties. And healthily lives out that hobby like gaming, setting one is a red flag for you to leave. As it then just necomes selfish to not want the partner happy, partake, or respect things they enjoy.

I learned along time ago you cannot change people, only they can change themselves and I have seen it especially in DV situations both my own and others you hope they will change but they never do unless they want to change and sticking it out will just lead to further suffering for yourself. It's better to draw a line, tell your partner about that line clearly and if it's breached then end the relationship and move on.

I will also clarify generally automata are a clear sign for the other person to pick the other thing and leave. My suggestion is purely for addiction as a last ditch effort if you know the person has a serious issue but genuenly cares about you. Their kids etc. And if those conditions are met you have a serious chance to give them a "kick in the butt" that motivates them. Its a case to case basis. Same as calling out bad habbits if someone is overweight works for some as motovator while others double down on the bad habbits. Diffrent folks diffrent strokes. To learn that the world is not one sided and full of individuals that may share aspects but are also diffrent in others. And to truly help those ypu need to learn who they are in and out. And yes those who you cannot help also exsist, as you correctly put it. When we "help" someone what is actually done is motivate others to help themselves. And bitter individuals atuck in their ways will always exsist. . But id never judge someone trying.

Women leaving nice guys for more 'exciting' (read: toxic/attractive) guys is more common than not. What I mean is that nice guys usually get burned for being nice. Its pretty rare that it nice guys aren't punished for being nice. There is a reason for the saying "Nice guys finish last". Happened to me personally twice actually when I a teen. I did the "Oh it was a mistake? I believe you and will take you back." Same woman burned me twice with cheating, once with my best friend at the time who turned out to be a PoS. But I was emotionally messed up long before that happened from other things, so that entire debacle was really a drop in the bucket. This was all over 10 years ago. I'm fine now.

When I was a kid in elementary school, I remember the start of what you could call animosity or competitiveness between the boys and the girls only after they sat us all down together and made us watch some dumb video where at one point they broke out into song and the girls starting singing 'Anything you can do, I can do better" to the boys and showing all the ways and things they were better than the boys at. The girls got a real kick out of that video and I don't think any of us boys liked it. Nor did we like or really understand why the girls suddenly wanted to compete with us and try to be better than us at stuff. The point of my little anecdote is that I don't think there needs to be a war between men and women and that a lot of these problems we've been working thru as a society for the last 30 or so years are in large part a direct result of misguided attempts at programming the youths of the last few generations. That a lot of this stuff didn't exist before the last few decades where it started to be pushed on extremely young and impressionable children who likely wouldn't remember most of what they were being taught back then anyway. At least not consciously, anyway. It clearly sticks with people subconsciously, though.

Most women I meet while playing online games. I prefer skinny women, but most of the women I've dated are chubby. As far as how many I've slept with? I can still count with only 1 hand. I've never cheated and I have a zero tolerance for it and I've been cheated on 3x, possibly more cause you can't tell with long distance relationships. But in dating, I like to build a friendship first. If I end up dating the woman? Cool, or if we just stay friends? I'm still cool with that and I'll be looking elsewhere unless that woman changes her mind. Ultimatums are awful especially when your ex is making you choose. This happened to me a few months ago my ex gave me an ultimatum to stay or leave. After he broke a promise to me and broke a promise to one of my closest friends, he lied to me and someone I consider to be as close as a sister to me you can get, he promised we’d talk every problem out he ended up ghosting me, and when I decided we should break up I asked him to please change my mind, but he just walked away. I was devastated because he was my longest relationship I ever had. But it was a very one sided relationship, if I did something he didn’t like I had to beg for forgiveness, but when he did something he could care less how it effected me.

I did show my emotions when I was younger, I know it's not all women but few want to see men show certain feelings I guess. It certainly left me with some insecurities. People have different levels of tolerance to what you share, sometimes it's too much and it's just a trauma dump and others can be more empathetic. All I can say is, I wish you well mate, and there are still people out there that have the capacity to care about you. Being an introvert is hard in an extraverted world. I am not going to spout some non-sense about mental health, but what I can tell you is you make 90% of your serotonin in your GI. If stress is hurting you, not having enough Serotonin is keeping you from feeling accomplished. A simple probiotic can seriously help you at least feel a little less frustrated. It’s not like the world will shape up, but it doesn’t have to hurt you as bad. Wish you well.
