omg this is like my beauty routine everyday and honestly its so worth it in the long run. it keeps your face so hydrated, even skin-toned, and prevents wrinkles in the future depending what serum you use. i use a pre-cleanse, cleanser, exfoliant, mask, toner, 2 serums, moisturizer, and then eye cream. who needs foundation when you got beautiful skin

Leisha Marie I use dermalogica for my cleansers and exfoliants then I use jeunesse and caudalie for serums. some of the brands are quite expensive so I'd recommend going to The Body Shop for beauty products. I've tried their stuff and its actually very good quality for cheaper products than jeunesse or caudalie.

Your skin will begin to lose 1% collagen every year starting from the age of 30 so by taking care of your skin now (even in your 20s) can help reduce the wrinkles when you're older

I think one of the reasons why Koreans are so obsessed about skincare is because Korean makeup trend is all about 'natural looking and light makeup, natural glow of the skin '. So you can not hide insecurities with heavy foundation, concealer, contouring etc.

Yes. I like korean style makeup better because it looks less cakey and like a drag queen. You look like a person that way and it gives you natural beauty instead of caking layers of foundation over acne. I used to do the Instagram style makeup, but then I realized how bad it actually looks.

I do a Korean skincare routine and honestly, I'll never go back. I used to have oily and flaky skin, but now I have flawless skin and almost invisible pores thanks to it! Plus, I get compliments all the time, like "Oh my gosh, your skin is like porcelain!" God bless Etude House. Since I'm pretty young, I don't do the ~full~ routine. I use an oil cleanser, regular cleanser, a peeling gel, a sleeping pack, and a lash serum (my lashes are SO LONG thanks to it). I use: - KOSE Softy Mo Facial Cleansing Oil (The one in the pink bottle) - Etude House Wonder Pore Deep Foaming Cleanser OR Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam - MISSHA Super Aqua Peeling Gel - Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack in Green Tea - Etude House My Lash Serum Hope it helps!

I have been doing a Korean beauty skin-care routine for almost a year. It has transformed my skin. But you don't have to double-cleanse in the morning! Double-cleanse is for removing makeup primarily. Also wish they emphasized why an essence is important more than they did. The essence I use has fermented ingredients in it and has been one of the most instrumental things I use that has improved my skin-tone and overall skin glow.

I'd say start with a good oil and foam based cleanser duo, since that can really help the skin, and maybe a decent toner to help balance ph, then maybe good moisturizer, etc. Then work up to serums and essences later. The main point is balancing and keeping the skin well hydrated. You could also try a kit or two, many of which include the basics, and bulk orders of masks are often available, friending in where you live, which you don't need to do every day either. I used masks before I bought any serums, which worked fine. The Ordinary, while Canadian, makes really affordable and effective serums, too.

I just use a mild face soap cleansing and then I put on a light layer of bio oil, then a little daycream and so sun screen 30, at night I cleanse my face, put on retinol - it helps control acne, oily skin, and prevent aging and makes the pores smaller and I leave it on for 30 minutes on it’s own before I put on bio oil and night cream❤️ it’s pretty easy, I can’t have a long routine but you can have healthy skin without having a 15+ minutes routine❤️

αrl ɢrмeѕ if you double cleanse, it can really dry your skin
@taompons
@taompons 6 жыл бұрын
Sohyun Park it never dries my skin out and i have dry, flaky skin. i use a hydrating cleanser and when i rinse it off, i tap my skin until it’s dry. using a towel removes the layer of hydration and moisture so i pat into my skin, allowing more to come into my skin. also, because of the first step is to double cleanse which involves a oil based cleanser, the oil will help not dry your skin out. it won’t dry your skin out if you’re using the right products and doing the right things i feel like. also a moisturizer exists Incase your skin feels dry lmfao
@sohyunp.3244
@sohyunp.3244 6 жыл бұрын
αrl ɢrмeѕ but the whole purpose of double cleansing is to completely remove your makeup products. Since some products are oil based and some are water based, the best way to remove your makeup is to double cleanse your face, using both oil and water based cleanser. However, since you are not wearing makeup when you are cleansing in the morning or have lots of dusts or dirty things on your face, there is no reason to double cleanse. Any type of cleanser will dry your skin and the only difference between cleansers is the degree of dehydrating your face. Go and ask any dermatologists about cleansers making your skin dry.
@taompons
@taompons 6 жыл бұрын
Sohyun Park my dermatologist has complimented my skin and how much more hydrated it is after i did double cleansing. like i said, it’s the right products you use i feel like. i have very deep, big pores around the sides of my cheeks and i tend to double cleanse it and because i wear makeup everyday. no natural oils or anything stripped off my face when i do this because the cleanser i use protects the barrier of my skin and improves it so the moisture i had locks it in place. people’s skin are not the same, some will be very dry after double cleansing and some might feel super fresh and great about it. i’m on accutane but i still have active breakouts and i used to have very oily t-zone and dry cheeks, chin, etc. but i’m only 14 so my skin isn’t as the same as people older than me lmfaooo

Lucy Grayson hi there what type of clay cleanser and foam cleanser do you use? Also why do you use two cleansers
@lucygrayson6034
@lucygrayson6034 7 жыл бұрын
I use the dermalogica dermal clay cleanser to get deep into the pores mainly where I have excess sebum and oil, then at the moment I'm using the body shop aloe vera foam cleanser but you can get cheaper, basic foam cleansers that will do the same job of cleansing the rest of my face. I use two cleansers because I'm more dry in some areas and oilier in others, but it all depends on your skin type and I prefer to do more cleaning and clearing steps!

I simply use green tea. I make it just as you would normally make tea and then let in cool in the fridge and then fill it into a small spray bottle. I keep it for around 2 to 3 days and then simply make new one. It is way cheaper and in the beginning when I just changed my skincare routine I didn't want to buy too many new products so that really helped. You can actually find a lot of different diys for that on youtube but this one works great for me because I always have green tea at home anyway. :)

YOU DON'T NEED TO DO 10+ STEPS EVERYDAY. The key steps for evening 1)double cleansing 2)toner 3)essence 4)serum and/or moisturizer and you're done. In the morning you just need a quick refresher (like a beauty water over cotton pads), moisturizer and sunscreen. That's it! Exfoliating is something that you only need to do twice a week max, or just once if you have sensitive skin; mask is a free game, if you enjoy sheet masking you can do it everyday, or just 2-3 times a week. Also change up your routine as weather changes.

Moisturizer 7. Sunscreen You can use exfoliator twice a week depending on your skin type. You can get the sheetmask from NYKAA they have offers so it's recommended and for other try Neutrogena products cause koreans brands are too expensive. Hope this helps.

@@sudiptaabhattacharya7105 You double cleanse your hair, right? Even if you don't use hair products. Even with no makeup on, HOPEFULLY you are wearing sunscreen every day and you want to get that off, plus all the environmental toxins and dirt and grime and sweat your skin takes on during the day. If you cleanse once, you get rid of the stuff on the surface. Cleansing twice allows you to get really deep into the pores. I always do a double cleanse in a facial and always recommend doing it at home.

Well, at the end of the day, when you're tired, it's not good to think of this as.... like "work". Like something almost everybody dreads and procrastinates to do. It's so much better to take these 30 minutes to unwind and *relax*. Play some peaceful music in the background and turn it into something *therapeutic*. Or turn on your favorite tunes or your favorite show and have fun! The point is to be optimistic, cause at the end of the month, or week, or maybe even a decade from now, it's all going to be *so worth it*, trust me :)

It's also amazing for oily skin that's dehydrated (and a lot of oily people have dehydrated skin -- oil and hydration are not the same thing), because it's not heavy or occlusive. I totally recommend doing the Korean skincare. It is a lot of steps, but after doing it so many times, it will become less confusing and more normalized within your daily routine. Double cleanse is important especially for women who use makeup, moisturizers, bb creams, etc. You spend x amount of time putting it on, then you should spend the same amount of time removing it. I totally recommend for people who are troubled by their hormonal acne-prone skin or you have extremely sensitive skin. These products can range from easily affordable to expensive depending on the brand. And it's still possible to do this routine using non-Korean brand products but you have to be mindful of the quality of the products you use. In my opinion, the cheapest Korean brand products will beat out any expensive American or mainstream products you are familiar with. Key to maximizing the effectiveness of your skincare products is using the products catered to your type of skin. Each routine will be different for each person. 🙂

Not just do they star in videos they create the ideas of which videos to use, they draw up storyboards and scripts on how everything is going to work out. they research about what each video has to offer then they film and edit. They also have to get rights for the music they use and the products they use. They work very hard to get these videos out for us. It shows when they have videos coming out in like February that were done in October etc... being the stars in the videos are very very nice i bet! But im also curious if they have to purchase their own products to do these. I'm probably only saying a small portion of what they have to do, but i can assure you that they do work hard! :)

you don't have to double cleanse your face in the morning...I personally use soap or even just only water in the morning. I'm South Korean girl who always take good care of my skin. The only thing I strictly use for my kin is 'Sun Screen' and 'Eye cream.' I use sun screen which has 50+ spf and PA +++ or ++++(plus, I intake Vitamin D3 for preventing vitamin D3 deficiency), and for the eye cream...There is no sebum producting gland around eyes(that's why we usually don't get acne around eyes), so the skin around eyes is really susceptible to get wrinkles...that's why I always use eye cream. Don't forget. Sunscreen and eye cream. Keys to get a youthful skin.

Saving time and improving your skin tips! 1.Put your toner on a spray bottle and spray every time you rinse off any product (cleanser, scrub, masque, etc). 2. Patting instead of rubbing is a must so you don't stimulate your oil glands. So apply a nut size of your cream/sunscreen on your hands, rub onto your hands and pat over your face, neck and cleavage. 3. Never use cotton pads. They irritate your skin and takes at least 1/3 of your product. Save money and apply 3-4 drops of your essence/serum on the palm of your hands, rub it a bit and pat over your face. 4. Use cold water, you will get better results in high speed! 5. Apply the same cream and sunscreen on your hands. A 9 products daily routine takes less than 2 minutes.

Ok guys, so this is for the people that have talked about not having the money for this routine. I get what you mean, I felt that way as well. So here's my experience with how I've found a way to finesse things a little. First things first, I've been doing the Korean skin care routine for almost 2 years. Over the years I've had to add on/remove certain steps. The following will be what's worked for me. Double cleansing. Every now and then I like to alternate with whatever oil based product I use to double cleanse. Coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, and ponds cold cream are what works best for me. All 3 can be found at Walmart for less than $10. Word of advice, when using coconut or olive oil, make sure it's 100%. It's just safer that way. Also, I only double cleanse at night. I've noticed that doing it 2x a day can really mess with my skin whereas doing it at night, while I'm winding down and taking off the days impurities, has worked best. As for my cleansers, I have to use 2 different types. Because of my skin type (super oily and somewhat combination) gentle cleansers aren't enough for really getting things out. So I wash my face 2x a day with the Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. It's a deep clean that can be left on for a max of 5 minutes; cost me $5 at Walmart. Afterwards I use the Aloe or Snail gentle cleansing wash. (I can't remember the exact dermatologist jargon, but this works best for my sucky skin). Both of the cleansers I bought at Nature Republic for $5-7. After I use the Polynedia Lagoon Water toner after each wash. I like to let it "absorb" for 2-3 minutes before applying the next product. Toner adds moisture back after washing your face so it's important not to skip this step! I bought this for less than $10 at Nature Republic. After toner I use essence. But only at night!!! Once again, after playing around with certain products over time, I've realized that essence 2x a day isn't good for my skin. It seems to only like being applied at night lol. The product I use is the Bulgarian Rose essence from, you guessed it, Nature Republic. Less than $10 as well. Now my last step depends on the season. During the spring and summer seasons, my skin tends to get extra oily. So during that time, I'll finish my routine off with the Bulgarian Rose emulsion (Nature Republic, less that $10). It's light, and a bit "watery" in texture so it doesn't add extra oil to my skin. Nor does it irritate it. Also, afterwards I never use moisturizer. If I did it would be too much for my skin. During the fall and winter seasons, I skip the emulsion and instead use moisturizer. My favorite is the Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer (step 3; about $5-6 @Walmart/Target). It moisturizes really well and also has medicine in it to specifically target acne prone skin. Works wonders! Some miscellaneous skin care below: 2x a week I do face masks. Some from Nature Republic, and others that are homemade. Always apply masks after toner! The ones I got from Nature Republic have different purposes, but the majority of the ones I use are for hydration. (@ me of you'd like to know about the homemade masks that've worked for me). Once a week I exfoliate my face. Shaving works best (please be careful if you try this!). I can literally see the dead skin come off (🤢). But I also like using a sugar, coconut oil, and green tea (pop open the tea bag and mix it all up) scrub because it softens my skin so much afterwards. I also like to add one capsule of black charcoal to my face wash once a month (one bottle at Walmart is $5-6) because it gives it an extra boost. I use pore strips on my nose 1-2x a month- only when I can actually SEE the blackheads forming. Sebaceous filaments are ok, after all they're supposed to be there. But once I see actual blackheads, I pull out those strips. Lastly, I do a lip scrub of coconut oil and sugar, or sugar and vaseline, to get off all the dead skin there. After I follow up with chapstick, vaseline, or olive/coconut oil. I do this once a week. So, if any of you have stuck around to make it this far (😂) and you have questions, make sure to @ me and I'll help you out if I can 😁

Honestly the 10/12 step skincare routine is usually only done at night. In the morning, most just wash their face with a water or a gentle cleanser to get rid of excess oils and any product that wasn't absorbed. Then usually just moisturizer and spf and makeup.

I got rid of acne by not trying to get rid of acne- find a super mild cleanser that's not made for acne, same goes for toner and any moisturizer. I use Dr. Jart products (they are Korean) mostly, and Simple, which is cheaper. Now I mostly use micellar water to wash, because it's just easier.

My mom stressed using sunscreen EVERY day since i was 13. It seemed excessive then, but it works. I'm going to be 37 in a couple months and routinely get told I look mid 20s... every now and then even younger. Don't wash your skin morning and night though... I feel like that just dries out your skin. Night to remove make up is just fine. Love the K-Beauty routine. It's added an extra level of polish and smoothness. Also, all the serums and stuff should be at night when your skin can absorb it. Daytime is just moisturizer and SPF... cuz once you start piling on makeup, it reduces the efficacy of the products ... so why?

as a person with oily and acne prone skin, using an oil based cleanser removes the oil you made while sleeping, you remove oil with oil and if i use just a cleanser (since the cleanser they use was Mild and not for oily skin) it wouldn't be able to cut off the grease and clean the actual skin of my face.

I've been trying this routine and it does my skin wonders! You could adopt the steps and substitute some of the products with local brands / natural ingredients for a more affordable treatment like I do: 1. *EVOO* as cleansing balm/oil 2. your fave local cleansing foam brand 3. *coffee grounds* as exfoliator 4. *ACV* (+ rose water/lemon) as toner 5. your fave local sheet mask brand OR *honey/egg/oatmeal* as mask and use Korean/Japanese skincare products for the rest of the steps. They work just as well 👍 👍

Jennifer Li yes but how necessary is that when the seasons change ?
@shugochara2
@shugochara2 7 жыл бұрын
What do you mean when the seasons change? It's not like the sun is any less potent in winter than in fall or spring or summer. In all honesty, the sun is probably more harmful in winter: with snow, there's more surfaces for light to effectively bounce off of. The UV index may change numerically, but it's not like that doesn't change how UVA and UVB radiation work. The more UVA and UVB exposure you have, the more your skin can produce melanin. It's why you don't wear sunscreen when you want to tan: your skin tries to protect itself form the UVA and UVB radiation by producing more melanin

This video changed my whole skincare game. I'm so happy I came across this video 3 years ago because I've stuck to the same routine since with some of the products they used (I have combination skin, so I bought some of the products best for that) and my skin has been SO clear ever since. I never understood why these women, after seeing such a difference, continued to stick with their old routine. It takes time daily, but it's so worth it. My skin has improved so much and feels so healthy ❤

Started doing this myself, still trying to get it down, but I think I have a decent routine so far. Morning: Foam cleanser Toner Essence Light moisturizer Makeup (I use a full coverage CC cream that has SPF in it) Through out the day I keep a refreshing face mist, particularly one that contains aloe and green tea that helps with redness. Nighttime: Oil or balm based cleanser Foam cleanser Toner Essence Serum Emulsion or "lotion" Eye cream Heavy moisturizer Water sleeping pack With a sheet, clay, etc mask and exfoliator done twice a week.

I've never had super dry skin but my sister does and the following helped her: both AM and PM put a Hyaluronic acid serum on a clean and damp (!!) face, followed by a moisturizer like Decubal Vital daycream (just check the ingredients to see if you can get something comparable if it's not available to you). At night you can seal all of that moisture in with an oil like good quality Rice Bran Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba oil or Rose hip oil. if you're also acne prone definitely go for Jojoba as it helps with that too and never clogs pores.

min yoongi for life well that's just normal teenager acne. I'm 18 and vegan as well, and every month at my time of month I break out, but before I was vegan the breakouts where all the time and much much worse. These woman are older and shouldn't be having as many breakouts so that's why I think they should look at their diet. :) Also maybe it runs in your family or there is another underlying problem. If it's really bad then maybe you could go to a dermatologist and see if maybe you have something else going on that's causing it.

there are plenty of european/international brands nowadays that sell most of the products needed for this kind of skin care routine for example i am using an essence and toner from The Body Shop, a Balea face cream (they have it in some Balkan countries too although it's originally a German brand, i believe), the best sheet mask i've ever tried is also one from Balea, their products are quite affordable too I think I've seen their products in Belgrade, so maybe they sell it in Croatia too(?) my biggest struggle though is finding a sunscreen that's affordable and not greasy or shiny, but mattifying my face with translucent pouder before applying makeup definitly helps, so it's not a big problem for me it's not important, which country the products are from, but what they contain and how those ingredients work for ones skin, try a few local things out and maybe you'll find your holy grail skin care products
