The movie needs an After Credits scene where Random Handsome Man gets fired from his job due to going AWOL, gets dumped by his lover because he stopped being in contact and was seen galavanting with a beautiful woman, gets on the wanted list because he got caught in CCTV stealing a plane, and, finally, goes bankrupt after he uses all his savings trying to find out why he can't remember what happened in the past few weeks and why his life is suddenly in ruins.

I can forgive it. Wonder Woman came from an island of women and Steve was the first man she met and first love, and Steve is supposed to be "above average". That is something special - a lot of people said, you don't forget your first love. You might be different, and that is fine. And maybe the stone is not only making her see Steve, but also weaking her judgment or weakening her will too?

@Laura Zucker In the early 20th century they found one or two jaguars that outweighed African lions. They are built like leopards but closer to the size of a lion. Leopards are unbelievably dangerous for their size. Many big game hunters in Africa are more scared of leopards than lions. Anything that can take on an alligator is to be respected. Worst case scenario his spirit or his counsions was deep into his body when Steve was given the body, they never clarify if that was the case he gave the consent or not , so if this is the case it's RAPE there no it's Rapishh..or it's just creep thing that happened Best case scenario the guy's spirit was not in his body and he was temporarily floating around the world like a ghost, or he was put into another body( in that case what about that guy😫😫😫) but even if he wasn't in the body, this is still his body it's not Steve's body, he does not have control of his body but it's still his body, he needs to have given concent, and again never was it clarify that HE GAVE HIS CONCENT so it's still RAPE No matter the way you look at it , it's fucked up , all they had to do is write 2 lines of dialogue saying this is a dead guy's body ,he died in his room and the moment he took his last breath Steve took his first, simple basic 101 writing how hard it was to write it in the movie

The script is the main problem. It felt like the writers put all their ideas into the script, and did not polish it. A lot of scenes should have been cut, like the opening on Themyscira, and Cheetah should have been cut out of the movie entirely since she doesn’t really add to anything. Chris Pine’s return made no sense, since he came back in someone else’s body, as I felt if he looked like Chris Pine to everyone, instead of that other guy, it would not change what happened. Also, nobody talks about the aftermath of wishes, since the film jumps to winter, but Diana and Maxwell Lord still remember everything, and Washington D.C and other places are in ruins
@JustJulie-cz8fs
@JustJulie-cz8fs 3 жыл бұрын
Yup, screenplay is the biggest problem. That's because they got rid of Allan Heinberg who wrote the first script. Apparently from what I heard from Grace's video that there was friction (though, friction was pretty good considering the final product was awesome.) Anyway, the whole team (Allan, Zack, VFX team, composer) all got wiped. Instead Patty, Geoff and David wrote the script on this film. This is why the film ended up the way it did. Bad screenplay by 3 people who are bad at writing & or have lack of experience.

Imagine being this guy, you loose control of your body and consciousness, and then an unknown woman has sex with you and then takes you on a world saving adventure, fighting White House security on the way, and which could have very well led to your death. She shows no remorse, and even flirts with him after he gains control of his body. All this while, she knows that if she renounces her wish, everything goes back to normal and the man gets control of his body. But no, Wonder Woman, the biggest female hero in comic book history, is extremely selfish and uses the guy’s body in whatever she wishes for. The sex is equivalent to having a non consensual sex with an intoxicated man who has lost his senses. This is nothing but “rape”, violating the basic right of a human consent.

Its infered cause she grabbed lightning for mostly no reason but to sour faster after saying she could fly...how are we suppose to know that lighning travels through magic ropes or not. Anyway thats why she didnt get electricuted too. People just think she's strong so she's ok but the cheeta is suppose to be stronger than her. Cheeta wished to be just like her...why turn into cheeta, your basically equal,, cheeta form possibly made her weaker. Max was a stone so he could give cheeta the second wish cause the first was in stone form but their are tons of plot holes that arent really plot holes yet people think they are cause the movie has you connect and think for yourself on so many scenes that your really not suppose to...i understand making you figure out the meaning of life after watching Soul and arguing the meaning of the movie with friends...this not so much.

I was uncomfortable and frankly perplexed that not only was he taking over another body, but they went out of their way to show us that this man had a life, had a career, and presumably friends and family that would miss him. So for me this didn’t ring true as rape as much as it did murder. I feel like in body swap movies we kind of ignore the physical and sexual implications of being in somebody else’s body, unless it’s for a joke, so I could get over that (though I totally understand what people are saying) but for me it was more like she was okay with basically killing this man and ending his life. Questions I had to ask watching the movie: 1) Who gets their wish, when the wishes directly conflict each other, which would constantly happen? No one, like, wished for world-peace, or at least for all the crazy people to go inside? 2) How the fuck is this world not going to spend decades talking about these events and the not-so-mysterious Wonder Woman who saved them all via a global Skype call? This movie just rips a giant plot-hole into the entire DCEU. I didn't find it overtly sexist at all, although the constant cat-calling was comically overt. But, whatever, the movie is too dumb for me to be offended one way or the other. Gadot is okay in some scenes, but there are a few lines she gives that are soooo stiff and awkward. She sucks at acting, but it was much more apparent in this movie than the others. I WISH the movie was better, because the message of truth and not lying to yourself is very appropriate for the times. And Pablo played that role for allllll it was worth. But, it's too goofy.

I know it has been 70+ years for Diana but bringing back Steve Trevor right after the first movie was a mistake in my opinion. You need to have at least one movie in between in order to A) have the audience miss him and not lessen the impact of Diana losing him at the end of the first one and B) take the audience off guard (assuming the trailer for a third movie wouldn't spoil it as many do nowadays). It was the same mistake they made with Superman, which actually started with killing him off waaaaaaaaay too early into the beginning of the DCEU.

Wow, every single one of you who are complaining about WW84 being "man-hating" seriously need to ask yourselves why you weren't disturbed by the ending of the first film. If you recall, Patty Jenkins had Wonder Woman kill both male villians in the first movie, only to show mercy on "Doctor Poison" (the female villian who was solely responsible for the brutal genocide that happened in that film). Not only did Wonder Woman show mercy on Dr. Poison, she LET HER GO! So, I'd say the first Wonder Woman film was by far much more offensive than WW84.
@JustJulie-cz8fs
@JustJulie-cz8fs 3 жыл бұрын
The script was the issue. Geoff, Patty and David did the script. Shot themselves in the foot. For some reason they got rid of Allan Heinberg who wrote the first script, the composer & Zack + his VFX team, though he remained a producer. This film had the potential to be something great. It's also unfortunate how underdeveloped Cheetah is, and her relationship with Diana. Should have been best friends to betrayal, but instead they focused on too many other storylines, too much going on. Therefore, Cheetah felt very minor despite being the most intriguing part.

I live in the UK, and these days practically every advert with a romantic element only ever seems to portray interracial couples, or families, or all black families. I literally NEVER see any that feature all white families or white couples. Examples in the U.S you could look at CW’s shows and it’s relentless attack on men, and depicting trans/gay/blacks as the norm/majority. I think the only thing we can half agree on is Heterosexuality being actively and aggressively pushed aside.

Glad this review was fair. I was worried after the certified fresh rating was removed from Rotten Tomatoes. Finally saw the movie at movie tavern with my sister Jennifer and her bf Kirk! Ate lunch too The movie itself; felt longer than it should've been but Gal Gadot is spectacular playing this character for the 4th time. Director Patty Jenkins once again shows a heroine that's strong as a god but has the heart of a human. I'm so happy they finally show her flying and having the invisible jet. A wonderful opening flashback sequence like an extreme version of the X-Games. They nailed down the vibe of the 1980s setting from the Cold War to big shopping malls to the shoulder pads to the giant hair to the exercise craze to oil to telecommunications satellites. Great action scenes. Good to see Chris Pine again. Love Kristen Wiig as Cheetah even though she doesn't show up until the end. Pedro Pascal as Maxwell Lord is a very sympathetic businessman. There's even a wonderful cameo during the mid credits. The whole idea of wish fulfillment applies to all of us considering everything that has happened this past year. It's better to face the truth and learn to heal with love. Nothing good is ever born from lies. You don't have to wish to love somebody when they already do. I even recognized some of the music from Batman v Superman! Absolutely worth the wait.
