This is suuccchhh Godly timing. Have a friend who's been going through a similar journey and I've been asking God what I should do. My wake up to God was definitely a "go to your room, close your door and cry out to God" moment ... but I wasn't sure that would necessarily be helpful for her. Today is the day to watch this video. From the morning God is showing me my first love with Him, when in summer 2017 I was laying on the baltic sea giving Him all of me and after that He put in my heart the desire to be a mum (I was 30 and I never wanted to be a mum, ever in my life). He showed me two little boys, and I was playing with them on the beach later that day. One year later I got pregnant, and in 2019 I gave birth to my first son. Now I’m pregnant again (maybe it’s my promised second son). Thank You for help me remember all the blessings I have and about my journey with God❤️

I've been searching with a honest and repent heart for almost a year now. He has never meet me, he has never made himself present to me. I really don't know if he exists, and if he exists he definitely doesn't hear me. I have a painful past. I was abused as a child for four different man. That is the root of my unbelief to start with. Why would God let something like that happen to a little girl? And now that I'm looking for him honestly with all my heart, he won't let me find him. I'm ready to quit... I've fasten, I've prayed I've tried to change but nothing seems to be enough to get his attention, to get him to just give a word of encouragement, anything to show that he is real to keep me going ...

My heart is broken reading your story, I’m so sorry that you went through so much trauma and abuse. How are you doing today? Do you feel that are you closer to God now? I pray that God is healing you through everything that you’ve been through. And it’s okay to ask God, those questions because Jesus also asked God “why are you forsaking me? “ When He was on the cross. So even for that moment we see that Jesus also felt alone, although He didn’t get a response from God at that point. The Lord showed that He was with Jesus. There’s a verse in the Bible where it says that the ground shook when Jesus died, so we see that God responded to Jesus pleas during that moment in His life. You had an encounter with "God"? How did you know it was God and not just wishful-thinking? And if a god will show himself to _you,_ why won't he show himself to _everyone?_ Heck, it's not just us atheists who don't believe in your god. Theists can't even agree with _each other_ about which god might be real. And even when they agree about _that,_ they can't agree on what he wants from them. That's why there are literally _thousands_ of different denominations of Christianity alone. So, you were raised in a Christian household. And now you're a Christian. Well, _that_ certainly fits the standard pattern of religious belief worldwide. Faith-based people _overwhelmingly_ believe in whatever religion and whatever god or gods they were taught to believe as children. Christians were almost always raised Christian. Muslims were almost always raised Muslim. Hindus were almost always raised Hindu. Etc. But you weren't happy. You were looking for a father figure. And you found one - a conveniently invisible, immaterial, magical figure who agrees with you about everything. You were depressed. And now you're happy believing this stuff. Sorry, but so far, this sounds _exactly_ like wishful-thinking. I'm glad that you're happy, I really am. But I care about what's actually _true._ And even according to your _own_ story, your god seems like a real dick. Well, no, your god seems completely imaginary, actually. You have thoughts which you ascribe to "God" because you were taught to believe in that god as a child and you really, really _want_ that god to be real. Well, again, I'm glad that you're happy. But your god is _indistinguishable_ from an imaginary friend. And if you're OK with that, fine. Most people are. But I care about the truth. I _care_ about the _truth._ That's why I'm evidence-based, not faith-based.

I encourage you to read “The Case for Christ” about an atheist journalist who sets out to disprove Christianity and the evidence he ends up discovering about the historical death and resurrection of Jesus. How could _anyone_ read "The Case for Christ" and still think that Lee Strobel was telling the truth about being an atheist? After all, what does he do in the book? He asks questions of _his own brand of Christian_ and then believes everything they tell him. He doesn't even ask other kinds of _Christians,_ let alone people who aren't Christian at all, right? He gets _one_ side of a story and then just believes whatever they tell him. Heh, heh. Does _that_ sound like an "atheist" to you? Sorry, but books like that aren't written for atheists. They're written for Christians who just want to be comforted in their existing beliefs. Christians apologist books are written for Christians, just like Muslim apologist books are written for Muslims. They're not convincing to anyone who doesn't already believe it, but that's not the _point._ They're written to comfort existing believers, that's all. Typically, I ask Christians for just *one piece of good evidence* that their god is real, rather than just imaginary, or *one piece of good evidence* that _any_ of the magical/supernatural stories in the Bible actually happened, because I can't even take religions _seriously_ without that. And what do I get? Well, if I get a reply at all, it's usually just to tell me to read some book or watch some videos. Often, they'll _claim_ that there's evidence, but even *one* example, specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself, is always too much to ask. Well, without even *one,* I just can't take it that seriously. But again, thanks for the reply (even though you didn't actually answer my questions).
