Can you tell me where I can purchase the Zee-Klip's and wood blocking's? I can't find them anywhere online.

Would really be nice if any of these videos on blocking metal studs would show them actually supporting weight, there is literally NOTHING out on the entire internet showing metal studs supporting anything more than a smaller TV using zip anchors

It is just as strong as blocking wooden studs. It can be pretty strong. That is how you mount cabinets in units with metal studs. Fully loaded cabinets can get very heavy.

what type of screw was used to go through the metal into the wood? And it's ok for the screw to punch through the back of the wood?

Sounded like they were using self drilling for all but fixing the z clip to the stud. And it should be fine for the screw to punch all the way through, just sharp on the back side, but studs are sharp as it is.

Why not just ditch the z clip and just screw in from the side of the stud ?

We weren't able to achieve the shear values needed to support an ADA grab bar loaded to a 2.0 Safety factor. In the past, we would have installed the blocking exactly as you stated. The new Zee-Klip has the holes pre-punched.

this would never be economically viable in a large building project, everything done here has to be done in less than 30% of the time...we dont use clips and clamps, its almost ridiculous to imagine the time wasted, you hold each piece in place with one hand and drill the screws in with the other hand..no two man job or clamps needed
