OR YOU COULD TAKE DRIED LEAVES AND AND MIX IT WITH SMALL STONES THEN MIX IN I QUART OF UNCOOKED DUCK FAT . THEN WHEN WELL MIXED PUT EVERYTHING IN A CANVAS BAG AND WRAP IT WITH NATURAL TWINE OR COCONUT FIBER ROPE .THEN PLACE THE BAG IN A 2FT BY 2FT HOLE AND COVER IT WITH CRUSHED SEA SHELLS ( OR LIME POWDER ) PACK IT DOWN REALLY GOOD THEN PLACE A FLAT ROCK OR PATIO STONE OVER IT , EVEN AFTER 6 MONTHS YOU WONT SMELL ANYTHING !

No masons needed. Coming up with the plan is the hardest part. Absolutely best video I've seen on these ovens. Best looking and longest lasting oven I've ever seen Aswell. Fit and finish was prefect. Planned for 4 years and decided from the 130 plus videos I watched to make ours similar to your design. Progress has been good, on my eighth week of work and just finished putting on the tiles! What type of sealer did you use if I could ask you? Also, I have added a few things to our oven. Like a back door for ash removal, a turntable for even cooking, a vented chimney so that NO smoke will flow out the front door, and a way to raise and lower the pizza platform. Now, If I can only figure out how to make a you tube video myself. Wish I could send you a photo as a way of saying how much we enjoyed your video as the best example to follow in design and final look. I tried to learn from them all! I am still working full time, but, what a fun project this has been! Thank you !!

I'm a bit surprised at only a few negative comments about this project. But, as has been said, there is no accounting for taste (or a sense of value). I'd be willing to bet any Greek, Italian or any other old-world family would be thrilled to have one of these ovens in their yard. It might be beyond my skillset to build one but if you lived close, how much would you charge to build it for me, labor and materials? I don't even have an indoor oven!
