You two have yourselves a real nice mill. I have used a tarp to cut on for years...makes it easy to drag the saw dust to the pile and keep it clean around the mill. My first log was a red oak and at 10x10 I shut the mill down and smiled.....I still have that 10x10 in my shop 20 years later. Welcome to the club...you two are going to love that mill.

Thanks...we are just getting started and it's a learning process for sure. We love it and cut as often as we can. Its mostly been white and red oak so far but we are wanting to get more Walnut. We don't have much Walnut on our property so we are trying to make connections to have access. Appreciate the comment and any advice for us beginners is welcome. Thanks!!!

without knowing exactly how the feed is driven, this is just a guess - it appears to be hydraulically controlled - the lever is pressed and the speed ramps up dramatically in either direction - if so, there will be either a flow control valve inline to the hydraulic motor that can be throttled - or, if a valve was never put in by wood-mizer, one can be added - probably best by wood-mizer technicians your best move is to contact wood-mizer and tell them what you want the machine to do, or not do good luck my background, industrial maintenance technician - i even worked for a wood-mizer sawmill in kentucky for a couple months in 2002 - but never saw this issue from what i've seen in your videos, this should be resolvable

We had wanted a wood-mizer for many years and had ben saving up for one. We finally ordered one and it took about a year to come in. So far we are very happy with it. Would have been nice to have the LT70 or maybe an upgraded diesel motor for the LT50 but we were at our max budget. Glad to here there are others who are happy with their purchase decision.

Why the tarp!!?
@WrightCustomTimberandArms
@WrightCustomTimberandArms 2 жыл бұрын
I put the tarp down to collect all the sawdust so it does not get trapped in my gravel. I actually decided to concrete the area in front of my garage so now the tarp is no longer needed. We can just sweep up all the sawdust to dispose of when we are done cutting for the day. Hope you are well.
