We bought a new rolle kit for our second pellet machine! The old rollers were built with sealed SKF bearings and you couldn’t grease them, 100$ a bearing and there is 4 in them (2 in each rollers) so it was getting expensive. So we bought the new model, with tapered SKF bearings, tho it’s 1750$ 😰 Nice video And I won’t forget to upload a vid of our machine

hi! Thank you for the comment! Sorry for the delay in the reply...well, we do pay about 15 to 22€ / bearing, and we do use it 2x times, one for side, let't say. Once one side(the one of the internal cylinder) is uded, you turn it of 180° and you can reuse it. YOu can double it's working life, actually. Your case is actually expensive, a bit!

Hi! Thank you for the comment! Well, the material you see 05:26 is standard material, the pellet mixture actually. The one we put into the ring die via a feed shovel is pellet mixture + natural greasy material (cofee residuals and seed oil. These greasy substances lubricate the holes in the ring die, helping the material passing through these holes in the starting phase of the machine, when everything is colt. We use it also when we turn off the machine, to fill holes with this very soft and lubricated material. If you don't do this in the end, the next day, when you start the machine, you'll have all the holes blocked. I hope I satisfied your curiosity. Bye!

Did your father loose a finger? I would be afraid to stick my hand around moving parts after loosing a finger. I'm enjoying the wood pellet education. Thank you for sharing these skills.

Hi! Thank you for the comment! Yes, he did several years ago...before doing wood pellet he was a carpenter, it happened with a circular saw. Yeah, you may be right, but he is actually used to that ahaha. Thank you for appreciating the effort in the video!

Hi! Thank you for the comment! The main mill motor is 9kWh, all passing through these ball bearings. They are ‘really stressed’, mechanically speaking. How long do those bearings last?

It really depends on the quality of the bearnig, on the mechanical mounting and on how much grease you use. Moreover it also depends on the hardness of the wood you are pelletizing. IN general, few tons of material. Then we dismount them and we turn them on the other side, so that we can almost double the bearing duration.
