Wood Splitter Re-Power Test with Predator 6.5 Engine

Putting the Predator engine to the test.

I just removed a chineseum briggs and scrap 6.75 hp engine from a Huskee 22 ton splitter that would barely run and used the 6.5 hp Predator engine with a new 11 gpm pump. Started on the first pull. Let it run at half throttle for 15 minutes or so, then split a log. The engine runs great so far. I will talk to the guy that owns it in a few weeks and see how it’s doing. Heard good things about these engines. And my buddy is only into a repower for $400.00 for the engine, pump, hose and hardware.

That’s pretty good. I recently bought a screw wood splitter. As soon as I can find a spare few hours to make a bench to mount it on, I should have it going ready for next winter. I’ll upload a clip so you can check it out.

how is the 6.5 engine holding up for you after 3 years please reply'' thinking of buying one maybe 3, 1 hour runs with fresh oil each one ?

Still running great, but I only split a couple cords a year. Flushing the oil is important. Thanks for viewing
