As a former firefighter I wish you had run two 45 elbows or preferably straight up . The ninety degree bends slow the exhaust gases and can cause more soot build up . More often than not when responding to chimney fires we would find the people choked the fire down too far or were burning green wood . Make sure you get a hot enough fire every time you use the stove . Here is a chimney fire fighting tip . If you have a true air tight wood stove or insert with a good chimney and get a chimney fire . Take a large glass of water and quickly open the door and throw in a glass of water and close the door and choke off all the air . Water turns to steam , expanding about 1,600 times while turning to steam and cutting oxygen from fire . Looks like a nice stove . Been running our wood stove for 37 years , still works as well as when new .

Another thing if you have an open fireplace and you have a chimney fire sprinkle salt across the top of the fire and it will slow it down

with that those angles, the smoke will cool and leave more creosote from the 1st angle and up. also, large part of the stack is outdoors and subject to the temp outside which will cool the smoke. if the fire chokes out when starting, that is a good sign the airflow is being restricted and time for cleaning. clean that stack every 2-4 weeks, he will have no problem. add a battery operated smoke alarm above the stove, if he does have chimney fire, the smoke alarm will save his ass. the alarm won't go off upon starting unless the fire is being choked out, which means clean the stove and stack.

Henry Zabel, As a mason for almost 40 years I find that fire fighters give some of the worst advice to home owners when it comes to chimneys. Id encourage people not to take your advice and think logically about a cup of water being able to do anything but maybe put out the fire in the fireplace or woodstove, and also think about what will happen if you get cold water on the glass doors or window of your wood stove. So not only would the chimney still be a roaring fire you'll have broken glass and even more oxygen rich air feeding the fire because you've lost your door. A fire suppression stick, such as the one made by Rutland, would put the fire out almost certainly and if not add another stick. Secondly always burn seasoned firewood. If you don't know what seasoned firewood looks like or you buy your firewood from someone I would recommend buying it a year in advance. Store it outside with the top covered and keep it off the ground, pallets work good for keeping airflow circulating through the stack and keeping it off the ground. A few months prior to using your now seasoned firewood cover entirely to keep the sides from getting wet. Have a your chimney cleaned and inspected yearly. Add a creosote fighter to your arsenal. I have seen it come in a powder form and liquid. I have personally seen that this stuff works if used accordingly. But the chimney will still need to be properly sweped to clean out the loose creosote. As far as the elbows on this gentleman's woodstove he is more than fine as far as draw goes. Having the pipe that runs horizontal coming out of the stove pitched up hill is more important than a couple of 90's restricting airflow. Look up what a masonry heater is. By some of the comments I've seen they shouldn't be able to even burn properly with all of the 90 degree turns they make. Yet a properly built masonry heater is 80- 90% efficient. Which rivals most natural gas furnace. I tell people if you burn properly seasoned firewood and have your chimney looked at by a professional the chances of a chimney fire in nearly zero.

We have two Lopi stoves in our house, its all about air control and good DRY hardwood with wood stoves, you will be amazed at just how the slightest air adjustment makes as to how fast the wood will burn, once a good hot fire is established with the flues open choke it off some and you will be able to learn how the flame reacts to just the smallest flue adjustment and go from there for a good long burn overnight with plenty of coals in the morning to start a new log. Congrats on your new stove, looks really good.

I'm in the process of installing some Imperial stove pipe myself which is why I watched your video. Sticker tip: Many adhesives are oil soluble. Peel off paper with fingernail best you can. Dab on generous layer of ordinary vegetable / cooking oil (olive, canola, whatever) with a paper towel and leave for an hour or two. Put a few drops of mild liquid dish soap on and scrub with a soft cotton rag (cut up old t-shirts) and a little warm water. Rinse, dry and repeat if needed. I got all the adhesive off of these on the 2nd round.

You can try using rubbing alcohol to take the stickers off. Another option is to scratch the surfacd and tape/tie a wet paper towel to the sticker and soak it off

I just changed my chimney for my outdoor wood broiler and it was a smaller chimney with the T fitting and all! I wouldnt think a house chimney would have been larger but i guess so! Nice work though! Looking good!

Keep a good hot temp going-dry hard woods and dont leave unattended. You will be fine. The 90 bend off the stove keeps heat in the pipes to radiate in that room. Take it apart once in a while and check and clean it.

Hay you got an Ozzy built fire. I have two of these with out oven. Just some tips on running it use bottom vent only to start or recover a fire. Once fire is lit close bottom vent and use the side air control. After stoking when I first got mine I had both vents open and forgot about it. The dam thing was glowing red hot and the smell of paint was strong. Oops. The great thing is the fire can be slowed right down. 👍

Look into Gallium heating pod's. The Gallium is inside sealed tank's that absorb heat and will give off that heat slower and help's keep a house or tent warmer then just burning wood has the stove will cool off very quickly and the Gallium will slowly give off the stored heat. 😊😉

Hi, this is regarding your goat milking. Lumnah Acres looks to have a pretty good way during the milking of stopping the animals kicking. Since this video he’s also added non stick surface to the floor of the milking area. And added red color to the inside of the goat shed. Around three minutes into the video he starts milking. Nice install and stove. You will find out that stone you have will warm up, which is a good thing to retain and distribute heat. It shouldn't get above 80 or 90, nothing to worry about.

I love my wood stove. Everyone that has a house should have one. If the power goes out in the winter your not going to freeze to death. Free heat . Just cut down trees in the summer and split and stack. My heating bill in the northeast winter is only 290 bucks a winter. With oil steam heat .

As someone that is adding a wood burning stove in the basement, be wary of 90 degree bends. Short chimney's with 90 degree suffer greatly from reduced draft. Not always the case, but use 45s when possible. Most manufacturers or permit offices have limits on use of 90 degree bends, so consult and read up before diving in.

Some kinds of adhesives used on stickers are able to be dissolved with oil. Try olive or peanut oil. Peel off any glossy layer first. Are you going to use the outdoor burner in the barn?

Love the stove. I heat my house with a wood burner also but I don't have the oven option. I have a straight pipe up through the ceiling so cleaning it is pretty easy. I'm hoping you'll do a video the first time you clean the pipes! The largest piece of seasoned hardwood that will fit in the box should last the night. SE Michigan wood burners unite! (or ignite)
