I really like that . The stones will absorb the heat and radiate it out . Great job 😀

Looks great! You’re going to love it. There is nothing like radiant heat. Just helped my parents install a wood stove last year in their house. Heats a 3300sf house with ease if you leave the ceiling fans on low to help move the heat around

It's different and it looks fantastic. On camera you can barely notice the glue. I think after a few weeks you will hardly notice it. I like this much better than the prefabricated hearth pads.

Try a wire brush on that adhesive that seeped through. The way it’s designed, it stays a little flexible even after drying. You may be able to get the bulk of it that’s visible out.

Great video instructional! Question, do I adhere the tile protector to the drywall or should I remove the drywall and use cement board??
@trumpking4874
@trumpking4874 Жыл бұрын
Use concrete board but u have to leave a 1” gap between concrete board and the dry wall. They make spacers for this or u can use metal studs.

Electrical code says you have to have access to any wire connections in a wall. I will have to remove the outlets and use metal covers over the electrical box

Everywhere I read it says you need a 1” air gap behind the stone or tile for circulation. Did you do this?
@SSLFamilyDad
@SSLFamilyDad 5 жыл бұрын
I did not but it also depends on how close your stove is. We were well beyond the limit to a combustible surface. The air gap is a good idea especially if you are putting the stove right to the wall

Is that actual stone, or cement that is made to look like stone? Curious. I have seen it used outdoors, not sure about how it will take heat, will be curious to know.

Did u leave the 1” space between tiles and wall? If not this isn’t a protected wall.
@SSLFamilyDad
@SSLFamilyDad Жыл бұрын
It isn’t but the clearance between the stove and the wall is enough for a combustable
@trumpking4874
