Best Treatment For Wood Fence Posts

In this video we go over the Post Saver by fence Armor as well as the classic fence Armor plate. I think the debate of which method is best when going the extra mile to preserve wooden fence posts can now be settled. No more rot at found level and no more worry of weak whackers scoring the fence posts.

I'm getting a post frame garage it will have 6x6 posts in 18 inch sonotubes. I opted for a 6x6 post sleeve that will totally isolate from the concrete I feel it will be superior what does the bully think?

I think any method is good. This one in particular has a warranty which is a plus. The main worry you have with wood posts is the ground surface where the soils and air meet. That’s where rot starts.

What about simply charring the ends

Never put your posts in the concrete. The concrete will soak completely and the wood will always rot. Use H post brackets or possibly 2 per post. That way your comcrete and post will stay in good condition. If the poles ever get damaged by other things (truck hit, termites, fire) you can simply support that area and swap out the poles.

Why use the torch method when you could wrap with bituthane or a similar product. Who wants to have a torch hanging around. Thank god wood bully had on his sunglasses and designer torn pants. Clown.
