Lihat lah rumah melayu tradisional ini. Less is more. Rich but humble. Kehidupan yg penuh dgan adab & adat. Tidak rakus dlm mengejar duniawi.

@@adude8424 malay houses are for tropical weather. and ventilation is key, that's why the beams are left exposed. these houses wouldn't work in the winter, as the timber doesn't retain heat and there are so many air holes. to be honest, even in the tropical weather it can be cold inside a malay house especially at night and early morning.

I understand some the dilated he said.My roots is Malaysia too a middle 10 centuries our ancestors split out Malaysia to Central highland of Vietnam , I believe why they moved to Central highland because they followed animals or they found peace placed to lived . Today the Vietnamese migrant cashed in Central highland stolen the Montagnards ancestors land , I hope one day Malaysia and Indonesia government should help us ,also we are genetic DNA roots Malaysia and Indonesia , we shared the culture languages . Montagnards Central highland of Vietnam 2 tribes Malaysia and Indonesia we called Jarai and Rahade our ancestors Indonesia and Malaysia.

Jeremy Ksor The Montagnards fought alongside the South Vietnamese and Americans. The current government in Vietnam holds alot of resentment not only towards the montagnards, but the Hmong people of Vietnam. I saw a short documentary about Montagnards feeling Vietnam seeking religious and politcal asylum, but were sadly sent back to Vietnam. I hope all goes well for them, because Ive heard of horror stories about the vietnamese boat people who got caught fleeing Vietnam. I do know that it will get better once the new generation takes control of the vitnamese government, because these stories are not taught in Vietnams educational textbooks. Sadly, Indonesia and Malaysia currently have more important political and economical problems to deal with, so I dont think they can help.

We love my cousin Cham, Jarai and Rahade, not forget Ustul in Hainan, many2 Chamic and Malay people in Champa[today Central Vietnam] be killed, assimilated into Kinh/Vietnamese, just like Malay Buddhist in Southern Thailand province of Surat Thani[Malay;Gerahi], Chaiya[Cahaya], Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ranong, Phattalung, Phang-Nga, Phuket, Trang and high percentage like Krabi 40% Malay Muslim, with Urak Lawoi our counsin, Songkhla or Singgora in Malay, at 35%, While Santun, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat are majority 70-88%. Phuket where "Mahsuri legend' was born, Island or archipelago along coast of Andaman sea from Ranong to Kedah Langkawi Island Malaysia where Urak Lawoi, Moken, Molken and Malay included Acehnese sail and fishing freely, today in Southern Myammar still have Malay village without change name unlike in Thailand all Malay name change to Thai or Thai sound. but Malay culture still strong like Srivijayan influences and Pre-Islam Malay culture, like Ruins of Sriwijayan stupa and candi/temple, and Srivijayan and Trambralingga buddhist temple in Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Surat Thani City pillar shrine base on srivijayan architecture.Nakhon Si Thammarat city pillar shrine, Nakhon Si Thamarat(Malay: Negara Seri Dhamaraja/Ligor, remaining of Srivijaya Peninsular branch, last Malay Buddhist, Melaka and Ligor/Nakhon Si Thammarat both claim Singapore as true successor of Srivijaya, Ligor Kingdom (Today Nakhon Si Thammarat) is vassal under Ayutthaya Thai Kingdom, ) -Khanom City Pillar Shrine Nakhon Si Thammarat -Chedi Laem Sor Pagoda in Srivijaya art Ko Samui, Surat Thani. Ancient Malay temple/Candi and Stupa, 800-1000 years old, but renovated to Thai architecture roof, but stupa and candi are the same. -Wat Phra Boromathat Chaiya Surat Thani, Ancient Srivijayan Buddhist temple (Malay:Surat Thani: Gerahi, Chaiya: Cahaya) -Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan Nakhon Si Thamarat, built by Kingdom of Tambralingga(Malay: Ligor or Negara Seri Dhamaraja, Thai: Nakhon Si Thammarat). Malay King Chandrabhanu Sridhamaraja 1230-1262AD Malay of Peninsular lost half of land, many of Malay Buddhist assimilated into Thai, but traditional dance and dagger like Keris, and Menora Dance, and also Sriwichai dance, [Sriwichai=Srivijaya in Thai tounge]. still used by Southern Thai, also Malay muslim in Patthalung, North Songkhla, Trang, Phuket many do not speak malay anymore, some mixed language Malay and Thai. Urak Lawoi, Moken and Molken are others Austronesian cousin too, they are the most northern peninsular austronesian up to Mergui Island, but today Bamar/Burmese, Karen and others Burmerese-Tibetian ethnic group migrated to south, Cham, Jarai and Rade must preserved the architecture, culture, langauge and tradition, i hope Malaysia and Indonesia included Brunei can help Chamic people. The Champa ancient temple and ruins must be protected, Cham traditonal houses, ornament, craving style, decoration, art and roof style, East Coast Peninsular like Kelantan, Terengganu and also Patani architecture more close to Champa architecture 'bumbung pemeleh' are similar to Cham, different from others Malay roof that look like 'Balai adat Melayu' and 'Bumbung Limas potong'. Yala City Pillar shrine base on 'Limas Potong' roof, because Yala very near to Perak state, Perak and Selangor very popular used 'limas potong perak' with finial spire.

The architecture is much more similar to Philippines houses, in pre colonial times, Filipino houses were built on stilts to avoid flooding due to strong precipitation in the archipelago since their left side is the pacific. Especially the Rajahs, Lakans, Sultans, and kadatuans houses were built massively. After the Spanish arrived, the stilts were replaced with concrete or stone calling them “Bahay/Balay na bato” or Stone house. One misconception about the Filipino houses is that they are Spanish house, but it is not. They only got hispanic after the Spaniards threw elements to the designs, the Tondo church is actually Lakandula’s palace until it got burned by the Spaniards caused by a revolution to eradicate invaders from their land but sadly lost.

You know...the real Siam is Malay. Even the meaning of Siam is brown, which represent the Malay color skin. There is no surprise many similarly between the Malay and Siam. What differentiate Siam and Malay is the religion. Siam is Malay Buddhist while Malay is Muslim. Thai is different. They are Thai-Chinese origine living in the north. Chinese is also different. They were from mainland China, invited by general Thaksin or King Rama to rebuilt the collapsed Ayuthia. When Ayuthia kingdom which is Malay- Siam dominant felt in 1700s, the Sukothai which is the Ayuthia vessel took over the Ayuthia. The general Thaksin which is Thai Chinese origine also invited many Chinese thugs to came and rebuilt the country. And in 1940s, the king change the Siam to Thailand. Thai is Thai race. Land is land. Since the Sukothai has less unique culture, architecture, musical, philosophy, they just adopted and absorbed the Malay-Siam rich culture. This is the fact.
