Hey Nelson, I'm old and hearing the kids playing in the background is really nice. We used to have some kids playing football in the back but not so much anymore. Anyway just letting you know that it's kinda cool to hear that. They always sound so happy. lol

I'm guessing it's a seven way mod switch so you can have bridge and neck together or all three pickups engaged at once.

I just finished watching your video where you refinished the Squier and thought the painted headstock looked awesome. So i did some digging around as I also have an arctic white strat sitting around and couldnt find the correct paint. I checked fenders custom shop colour chart and found it was color ID #80 but couldnt find it for sale anywhere so was wondering what paint you used. Any help would be appreciated! Very helpful video by the way!

I think that little toggle switch is a David Gilmour mod. When the switch is toggled on you can put the selector switch in the first position you get a Bridge and Neck pickup combo (like the middle position on a Tele) and when its in position two you get all three pickups at once. It's a great mod and very versatile.

how does one drop a pick inside of a stratocaster
@dylanvogel45035 жыл бұрын
I do it all the time I Shove my picks under the edge of the pickgaurd so I won't loose them plus if I drop one I won't have to bend down it's annoying when it happened though

Holes drilt? Love it. Say, other than to level out the angle and to satisfy an obsessive compulsive disorder, why do you put the outer springs to the fixed hook they correspond to rather than to the ones next to the center one?

Hey Woody! Don't know if I'd call that Strat "beat up" (Rory Gallagher's Strat...now that was beat up), but I do like what you did for it. Always good to tidy the axe up, I say.

Lighter fluid/naptha doesn't hurt finishes? Such as a lacquered neck?
@100amps8 жыл бұрын
Greg Soepboer, not really. It will react a bit if you leave it on a long time, but it evaporates so fast, it only has time to dissolve finger grease and crud, then it's gone. Works great.

I work nights and I watched a lot of your videos during my work hours. I noticed how good your playing has gotten from the old videos to recent ones, good on you man! I have an American strat but I'm thinking about sanding the neck down, how do you think I should go about doing it? Kind of scared I'll ruin it
@jamalabdul20098 жыл бұрын
When you do truss rod adjustments, do you prefer to adjust it neck off? If so what do you look for when you're making the adjustments?
@WoodesosGuitarMods8 жыл бұрын
It doesn't really matter too much one way or the other. A straight neck will only be effected by string tension. As long as the strings are off it shouldn't matter. It's just easier to deal with a bolt on neck, off the guitar. Makes moving it around way easier.

Why do you use the red sharpie on the frets?
@WoodesosGuitarMods8 жыл бұрын
Sharpie shows what's been removed. So when you run the level up and down the frets, whatever is still red, is still uneven. When all the red is gone it's level. When you crown, what you're looking for is a thin even line of red left on the tops of the frets. It's basically like a guide coat:-)

Mr Woodeso, I really enjoy these types of video, but if you don't mind me making a suggestion/request? Please could you at times add some text on the screen or explain (voice over/dub or talk while you're doing the job) what/why/how your are making adjustments and what we should/shouldn't do if we want to do some of these jobs ourselves at home? If you were to do it as text on the screen, you could save the text and each time you're doing that job, you just need to go to the file with the text for that job and edit it into the video. That way you won't have to repeat yourself each and every time you're doing the job, or have to remember to talk when you're concentrating on the guitar in front of you. That way you won't get too pissed off having to say the same thing over and over and over on camera and people who are watching for the first time won't keep asking your the same questions that you have already answered. I hope by doing that it will add a layer of information for the viewer and just give your videos a nice touch that will just make them stand out against other peoples videos on KZbin. I've been a subscriber for well over a year now and I always enjoy it when you are doing work on Strats (I own 3 myself lol). I really loved the one where you painted the headstock white, then added the Fender decal on a Squire you upgraded and then got your friends to play the guitar to see if they could tell it was originally a "entry" level Squire, rather than a more expensive Fender model of Strat. Regards, from over the pond in Oxford, UK!
