true that makes you think if there really is a almost satanic agenda in these record labels when it comes to promotion woodkids forgotten its already proven that major label pop songs will have extra harmonics at htz that draw in young listeners yet you only find those eerie sounds and htz levels in songs put out by justin bieber, drake, lamar, west, swift,A max, t scott and many many more. Not much a fan of this guy, but even xxxtentacion made wind of this a few times trying to explain it out to his younger audience they are the equivalent to the modern day pied piper if you think about it. the day you tell me God intended us to fight and throw away happiness over a inanimate piece of paper is the day all get down on my knees and suck LaVey's cock till then we should boycott shitty music if the sheep didn't throw such a fuss and were not in overwhelming numbers maybe it'd work.

Hey guys, let's not diss the people who came here from Assassin's Creed. Because they didn't come here for AC, they came here because they heard Woodkid's beautiful music and wanted to hear more. @arcadeassassin1019310 жыл бұрын
***** Pretty much, except the version in this song, I think, is a remastered version, or more modern, most likely to fit perfectly into this song. But the way it's implemented, to me, gives it so much depth. I love this song to begin with, but with the video and Embers weaved into it, it turns it into a masterpiece.
@catinheels889 жыл бұрын
I may be over analyzing this but to me this video illustrates a breaking out of war and the lost of childhood innocence. You can tell that this family live a simple life with little contact with the modern outside city world. It starts of with the woman showing the child a book of space, possibly showing him how vast the world beyond the countryside he knows is. Later, it shows his older brother (maybe) showing him how to make a stake and prodding it towards him, maybe lightly telling him how to use it if need be in war. Then it shows an old man showing his war scars to the young boy. Towards the end, it seems like drones are flying overheard the house especially it sounds like war sirens when this is happening. Although the boy holds on to the man's hand, his face doesn't show he is too scared so maybe he is ready as he has grown up.
@catinheels889 жыл бұрын
*I've been watching this video on repeat too many times... -_-
@OfficialPrettyLittleLiars9 жыл бұрын
yeah, that seems to be the meaning of the video. The ending of The Golden Age, childhood. The boy starts to see the world for what it really is
@aserta9 жыл бұрын
+ladyjchow The start is the dead giveaway. I mean there's a child inside and adult under the all revealing "eye" of a scanner. So loss of innocence in the face of a harsh truth, world, i believe that the reason isn't specifically war. But that's my view. I think each person is meant to take the end the "end of the golden age" as they see it. Heck, first time i saw this i was waiting for the E.T. to show up in the window, considering the Universe book. Certainly a watch me again video. It changes definition as you go deeper in.
@JossLun9 жыл бұрын
+ladyjchow I would add that the child is feared because he knows that his family could be broken, in opposition to the lyrics at 9:02. Agressivity grows through the video. He's the witness of an argue between adults (his parents, cousins ?) who were kissing earlier. He plays calmly, in dreams or with his brother. Then, the family plays arm wrestling, football and war. He throws toys away. The moment with the car could be compared with an epic cavalry charge (8:49). For me, the swamp and the flying swans stand for death. And the family is so careless that it makes it even more tragic. I'm maybe far from Woodkid's ideas, but there are so many possible meanings... I love this song.
@hunted4blood9 жыл бұрын
+ladyjchow I kinda thought that it was a double story. First there's the story of a boy losing his innocence. At the same time I thought that it takes place in a community built on something like mining, a community whose golden age has long past, hence the old man telling the kids about his scars. But you never know eh.

1 3 4 2 or CD order The Golden Age, RBR. I Love You then Iron. I think RBR, Iron, The Golden Age then I Love You is a good way to intro the music and cinematography. Iron is second to last on CD and thought it would be earlier too but the boy is cleaned up and in repose instead of the violent image at the start of ILY.

i've always had a hard time placing golden age first or last, but the other 3 in this order: 1. iron (sleeping/dreaming boy), 2. rbr (boy wakes up and escapes to take on the world), 3. i love you (boy is crushed by world and becomes something he never wanted), 4? golden age (early life, pay attention to the symbols used later/earlier. whales, towers, running/fighting, etc)

This is one of the two true MASTERPIECES that came out in my lifetime. The second one would be Björk's "Black Lake" And I place it second because "Black Lake" is a younger work of ART, ART that makes you FEEL something other than lust

I don't understand people who comment about video being too long or different because as caption say it's about the childhood of the vocalist which has a lot of meanings for him. Even if I am not the biggest fan of The golden age I think it's very important and beautiful in it's own way

Walking through the fields of gold In the distance, bombs can fall Boy we're running free Facing light in the flow And in the cherry trees We're hiding from the world But the golden age is over But the golden age is over Boy, we're dancing through the snow Waters freeze, the wind blows Did you ever feel We're falling as we grow No I would not believe The light could ever go But the golden age is over But the golden age is over Listen, I can hear the call As I'm walking through the door Did you ever dream We'd miss the mornings in the sun The playgrounds in the streets The bliss of slumberland Boy, we are family No matter what they say But boys are meant to flee And run away one day When the golden age is over When the golden age is over But the golden age is over The golden age is over

My mom (!!!) introduced me to Woodkid (one of his songs was used it a show they've seen) and I know listened to several of these (on headphones...). The music is so intense that I don't dare to move while listening. Wow. Just wow.

I think all four of his music videos (The Golden Age, Run Boy Run, Iron, and I Love You) tell a story about a boy and his life. At the beginning of The Golden Age, it opens with a scene where a man appears to be made of stone, and inside is a small boy who I think may be his younger self. In this song, a boy grows up with his brother, but his father/older brother and his wife/girlfriend fight often and the boy's brother becomes upset. In Run Boy Run, the boy's brother runs away and joins the military. At first he is exuberant and feels free; but eventually comes to find that he can't run forever. The boy's brother is killed in the war. The boy is distraught. In Iron, the boy grows up and is fighting his inner demons (the black smoke), and is dressed in a marble suit. The people run from the smoke but cannot escape it, thus he loses his fight against it. I think the keys could symbolize how close he and his brother were? They are never pictured apart, so each could symbolize something along the lines of unlocking true happiness. They are also sometimes seen with a white utopia (which looks like an organ if you noticed) which is now unobtainable since the brothers are no longer together. Thoughts? Finally in I Love You, we see the boy in a church. He begins by telling the crowd "Today I’m going to tell you a story about man who drowned in cold waters of ocean after the loss of loved one. It’s story about man who died twice." He is referring to his brother who had previously died in the war, and how he died emotionally because of it. The boy may have turned to religion to appease his shattered heart, and became a priest. In the next scene, we see the priest in the wild, obviously upset. He stumbles towards the ocean and swims out, then drowns himself. A pod of whales swim around him, which I'm not sure but I think could symbolize his life, or family, and how far he's come? I don't really know about that one. In the end of I Love You, we watch as the man turns to marble and dies. The last scene shows the priest turning around and his hands transforming into stone. This leads us back to the beginning of The Golden Age, where we see the boy of the priest which I assume was made of stone and the boy still trapped inside of him. So that's just what I got out of the videos, what did you guys think?

This song is pure emotion. I discovered Woodkid when I first played AC Revelations during COVID. Woodkid's music had a significant influence over me, and I cannot express how much I love him, and this specific song. Its truly a masterpiece, like all of Woodkids other works. I love this song soo much, I really cant express it through words. Its pure emotions, and nostalgia.

I didn't realize that the 3D kid in the beginning was contained in the 3D man starting at 0:54 until watching the video a second time. My jaw literally dropped and I wanted to cry. This whole video is like a remembrance of childhood... and we are all at heart a kid, so it's like a visual representation of that.

Esa voz gruesa es difícil de encontrar. Y ese amor por la música, también. La música de los más (más, más, más) famosas, no se compara con nada a lo que vos y esa orquesta pueden transmitirnos. Gracias.

This song really captures the feeling in certain parts of the west maybe better than any song I've heard recently unlike most music that is about denialism of reality. Like we were born in a decaying era with dying empires filled with dying people with squashed spirits. There hasn't been a war here in generations but I still feel like everything is just blown out.

All Woodkid's musicvideos must be shown as a complete film in 5-d movietheatre! This is the art that is really wourthy to be shown as a brilliant creation of eternely genious artist and storymaker! P.S. my speech is just too weak for telling my respect to genious Woodkid.
