8:45 Imagine being the person in the crowd who started that ... euphoria for all involved
@crusaderk183
@crusaderk183 5 жыл бұрын
Having stood in such a crowd on different occasions and different concert, I can say that euphoria doesn't even begin to describe it. Even watching that part makes me smile and silently sing along each and every time. I love how, with each time I listen, I can just point out the moment that the guy starts it and the moment it is picked up by almost everyone else.

I once started a line for people to wait for their meals, but the meals won't come until an hour. I justed wanted to read what the kitchen was serving, two of my friend followed me, because they wanted to know what I found interesting and then the rest of the people at this area thought: Oh, there a people waiting for their meals, quick get in the line or I have to wait for two hours or so (there were 1400 people and only one kitchen). I can tell I was not very pleased about this situation.

There is no "one person" who starts it, the crowd is an entity at this point. Same thing happened at the end of his concert in the same festival back in 2013. I was part of that "entity" and man... goosebumps & happiness :)

9:00 where he encourages the kids on stage to join in the chanting that’s just for fun and isn’t a performance and it’s just the audience having fun. It’s like he’s reminding them to stop every so often and remember the joy that performing and music and general can and should bring. (Also that cute little high five he gives the conductor at like 10:21)

This song is already so beautiful and well-orchestrated, but this entire live version, especially with the children’s choir and chanting starting at 7:00 makes this song twice as beautiful. I almost started tearing up when I heard the chorus for the first time, not going to lie. 🥹 It’s very haunting and profound yet awesomely matches the triumphant spirit of the studio version as the song comes to an end, which almost feels like it could fit right into a movie’s score and soundtrack. In fact, the choir singing reminds me of the children’s choir heard in the climax scene of one of my favorite animated films, “Castle In The Sky”, which still gives me chills sometimes when I watch it. I so wish that Woodkid would release this live version as a listenable recording someday.

@@mralec1742 i have seen Orchestra conductors do it, granted the Orchestra was the Main act, not another musician. To make it happen at this scale the conductor had to talk to Woodkid for a second to ask if he even wanted that, than he would tell the orchestra where in the song they would start, get everyones attention and set in just at the right time. It probably is possible, but who knows if Woodkid would have wanted that? That was truly a special moment - the singer and his crowd - maybe its best to keep that as minimalistic as possible.

I think the phones thing is a more legit complaint at concerts than the overall ‘kids these days be on that phone’ complaints. If someone is in front of you on their phone it’s directly interfering with your vision and ability to see what’s going on. Once your behavior is negatively affecting others it’s really a problem. I’ve had to start avoiding more popular concerts because I am so tired of watching the stage through people’s phone screens in front of me. I wanna grab & throw their phones.
