A woodstove is great for production value. Something about a fire in a cozy cabin in the winter. Cooking on a woostove is even better, like a hearty stew simmering all day while you work...or burgers in a cast iron skillet with grilled onions. Anyway... love the cabin, and love that part of Virginia. Very cool vibe up there. Feels peaceful and ancient.

Hey Graeme. Watching you wrestle with that hatchet reminded me of one of my favorite tools at my mountain house. Take your Milwaukee Sawzall and put a pruning blade on it. It makes quick work of all of your tree trimming needs. It's amazing how well it works as a mini chain saw. It's super gratifying to walk around and knock down all of the dead limbs.

Hey Graham, your work is looking phenomenal! Just an FYI, when I built my log cabin I was pretty broke and was able to find a really nice wood stove on marketplace for just a few hundred and luckily it came with a nice assortment of double walled pipe. I then found the rest of the pipe I needed on marketplace as well over the course of a few months of looking. Patience is a virtue! Good luck!!!

Open the tank valve and drain all the air out of that air compressor. The compressor will start running without the tank pressure load on the compressor. Close the tank valve and pressure will build as normal. Your battery pack will heat up from the compressor running and you will be back to charging the battery pack.

Go Beaver G, Go Beaver G you got this :-) one bite at a time! That tree don't have a chance against that hatchet. Always leave your compressor in the sunshine to get it warmed up by the sun. Also release all the pressure off the compressor before you try to start it in the cold. FYI I love my little diesel heater, I use it in the workshop a lot. I finally got a woodstove installed in the workshop to "erase" any of my mistakes LOL and just in time, we got snow in Texas again, crazy I know.

Dude, amazing work on the Cabin! One thing to keep an eye on for a future (hopefully soon) project is a proper fire pit. Your current outdoor spot always gives me the heebie jeebies with all the pine needles and other flammable bits of brush nearby. You don't have a source of water for fire prevention, so even just sweeping away the area nearby of your burn area for about 3-5 feet can make a world of difference for safety. Just an hour or two of work clearing out a proper burn area can lead to a lot more safety for you, your cabin and your land. (Former pyrotechnician for film and TV). Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for sharing. I definitely will start making a better fire pit!

Holy Woodness Icantbelieveallthesnowness baby !!!! This was definitely a fly by the seat of your pants kind of day brother lol. Trying to chop down a tree with a hatchet, not having the ability to charge your power source, but I still enjoyed the video immensely. You should definitely drill a hole and put a small piece of pipe sleeving from the floor to under the cabin to the side of the deck so that you can get your wires inside the cabin and leave it charging while you’re away. So you do not encounter this again instead of running it all in pipe, you can do just sleeves for now. Everything is looking amazing brother and I give you a lot of credit working in the cold like that. My dish that I want to see you make is an inspiration of Duke. Ratatouille is what you need to make. Keep getting after it, brother and be careful in all that crazy weather.
