Woods, Meadow and Lake Beginner Landscape Tutorial! This is an easy real-time painting lesson that I hope you will enjoy. Share this video with a beginner so they can create a lovely scene and build their confidence in watercolors.
Supplies:
Paper: Shizen 100% cotton rough handmade paper: amzn.to/2B35o0w
Watercolor paint (Joiart) colors: cobalt blue, prussian blue, crimson, yellow ochre, lemon yellow, burnt umber amzn.to/2kDEzFp
Brushes: 1" flat, #8 round, 1/4 dagger (Princeton Neptune) amzn.to/2CLvBy8
Ceramic flower palette: amzn.to/2jb6LPC
Beginner watercolor tips:
1. Don't be afraid of the water, wet that paper well! That's why it's called watercolor:)
2. Wet paper = soft blended edges and dry paper = crisp and hard edges. so be sure to wet the paper if you want it to blend and work on dry paper when you want crisp details.
3. Take a break, your eyes will play tricks on you after working on a painting too long so giving your eyes a rest will help you come back to work refreshed with a new truer perspective.
4. Paint! Whenever you can with whatever you have for supplies. That is the one thing that will make the most difference in your art.

Absolutely beautiful! It's cold outside and I'm sick cuddled up in an electric blanket with chills! Watching you bring my idea of heaven to life was a wonderful treat! Actually, I'm going to crawl out of bed and try this. I've done very little watercolor but it's such a beautiful medium I really want to learn! Thank you for showing us how and teaching so much more along the way!! Crafty hugs!!

Hi Lindsay, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I painted along with you. I enjoyed it. My painting turned out OK. Yours looks fabulous. I like my sky, clouds, mountains, flowers, grass, and a few of the trees. I might gift the painting to someone in a senior center/nursing home where the residents enjoy getting mail. Thanks again!

I just watched and completed creating the landscape painting. I always have fun doing your watercolor videos, I have so much more to learn though , but I am determined to keep at it! I did order a set of the Superior 42 fan paints from Amazon and hope to receive them soon...I feel I need more colors to work with than what I have now. Thanks Lindsay!

Thank you for showing how you mix your paints & the way you keep them separated, so very helpful. It actually let's me know how much laid I can leave on my paper & how patient or lax I can make c the paint glide properly.

Absolutely love this format!!! A tutorial using your live stream format! Wow!! This tutorial was more fun, informative and more like a excellently detailed, up close and personal watercolor class. As a student in your water color course I'm new, learning, and absolutely love it! This gorgeous landscape done with handmade paper along with inexspensive paints was so inspirational. I got so much from this format. It is so easy to see your very detailed techniques with brushes, paint, paper, water ratios as you demonstrated each step with relaxed Explanations. So fun to follow along, and inspirational! I would love to see all your future painting tutorials done in this format. So relaxing and inspiring! Time to gather my materials and get started. Thank you very much! I watch all your tutorials, and love your live streams. This tutorial was different, beautifully filmed and brilliantly done. It was so inspirational! Products were a surprise as I was looking at the same paints on eBay just yesteday. Have to say, I loved the colors. Happy Holidays to you and your family !🎅

I really love this! I'm wanting to do more landscapes as I tend to just do florals. This looks so easy and "doable". Thank you for your simple style that makes this so approachable for a "newbie" like me who doesn't feel they have any artistic ability yet, somehow, I can do the watercolors and they actually turn out. I always come to your page first and I am never disappointed!!You have helped me so very much!

I thought so too. This video quality is much sharper/clearer. You did a couple of sunséts thät are also appealing as starting paintings. I found a good place to paint awäy from my other ärt änd sewing projects because änytime I mess with water I'm like a sea otter splashing everywhere. Its ä sunny window where I can wätch birds feeding in my yärd. With that setup and your encouragement, surely today is THE DÄY!!!

Love this easy one . Definitely will have to try this one. I really really appreciate when you start out saying ALL the colors you are using before painting starts. Also supplies, such as dagger brush.i have tried numerous of your paintings. The pace of this one was great. Sometimes it just goes way to fast for me, even if I watch through whole thing 1 time through before painting. As always love you, teaching style and all your tips. Very much appreciated . As always lovely beautiful work!❤️

Just DO IT, Deb. I've never done it before either, and I just painted right along with her. I made a beautiful painting, and am waiting for it to dry up so I can frame it. Nothing to lose but a few drops of paint and water and a piece of paper. If you don't like it; Toss it. Give it another go; keep:toss, do it again. It does not take "talent"" to do it; it takes practice.

Lindsay is there some way you can test your paper to tell if it is sized or how sized it is? I love this painting. It did feel like a LIVE tutorial and I almost tried to send you a response when you asked what you should add to the field LOL I wanted to tell you to put a boulder there. We get those in Newfoundland-left up in meadows and fields from the glaciers when they melted way back in the ice age. It would look great with the wild flowers around its base-but that’s just me. It is wonderful as is, too! Love the richness of the colours.
