Restoring a legend! - Wadkin Bursgreen AGS 10
It is finally time, after months of work, to get some paint on this old cast iron table saw and start assembling.
After assembly, I did a quick test and it runs beautifully.

I came across your video because I have a bench saw restoration project to get started on soon. Your video was very helpful and I enjoyed seeing your saw go from old to fully restored. Love the hammered paint color you chose. I dare not disassemble my bench saw to the extent you did yours knowing I'd never get it put back together right, but I will clean, polish, and paint what I can safely. Thanks for the great video. Well done.

In my opinion, in this case, experience is not necessary the most important thing. And I say that because this table saw is not a very complicated machinery. So with the right attitude, ambition and patience, it's very much possible to do such a great job like you did. The result speaks for itself. Great, great job! 👍😎 Bravo!

You should be very proud of the results; everything looks excellent. Not only does the color scheme and texture look super-clean and sleek, the process of taking it apart gives you very detailed knowledge about the workings of that saw. That will serve you well in the future as you maintain it. It is truly one-of-a-kind now, as you've made it your own. Fantastic work, sir!

Very nice Jean! I just spent about 10 hours sorting out the riving knife support bracket (had to machine a new one) as my identical saw (AGS 10) did not have one. As with you, this resto has taken me much much more time than anticipated, but am sure we will have solid saws that will still be good in another 50 years!

Good day Jean, I acquired a used Wadkin back in the 1980's. It had the same horrid green paint job. Without you're expertise I had to live with it, until the day it rusted I to oblivion. So I'm not criticizeing your choices. HOWEVER, with your abilities and brand I would have shyed away from metallic Gray. It seems to Monochrome and Provincial. Instead you could have hightened your brand by keeping the base the same Tan / Sand color of your logo's background. With the various knobs, Wadkin labels, blade guards, and safety attachments in the existing Black. You could have painted the edges & trim in your logo's Orange. Especially around the table tops handholds. A subliminal reminder to keep your hands away from the cutting blade. If I possessed the same skill set, as you have demonstrated numerous times before, I would most likely still own that table saw. Thank you for your great episodes. ~Jim in N.Y. U.S.A.

I have a 1962 AGS 10 and also swapped out the motor to single phase. The riving knife in my model is fixed and does not lift with the blade. I have made a zero clearance blade insert and use Microjig splitters which work well. I have the original fence but it is finicky to adjust. I have subsequently replaced it with a VerySuperCool Tools fence. A great upgrade. It is a great table saw but dust collection was not a key part of the design back in 1962.

You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice kzbin.infoUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

Nicely done. Might I suggest a clear coat for the sign to prevent the bare metal rusting, a coat of pastewax or carwax on the table for rust prevention(oil will soak into the wood you're cutting and cause issues), and replacing the handles on the x and y with crank handles, as it will be faster and more comfortable to turn them
