Nice bowl love the different colors in the grain

Thanks, Scott. The great thing about woodturning is that as far as making a nice piece, the wood does 99% of the work just by looking great by itself!

I liked being able to see your lathe speed as you worked. Thanks.

I just made the same boo boo on not my first natural edge, but on the biggest one I’d ever turned. I’d lined up the highest edges but not the lowest ones. - it got smaller by the time I fixed it, same as yours. 😄

Great looking bowl. The bark and colors in the wood enhance the design.May I ask about your tool rest, I also have the Jet lathe, but can not find a source for good tool rest.Thanks for the great video.
@SJWoodworks8 жыл бұрын
Joel Seymour The tool rest I use in this video is from Robust. They are a little expensive, but I think they are the best by far.

Think the tear out might have to do with that push cut down hill on the outside of the bowl.. might try a pull cut with more of a shear cut angle..so that the grain is supported. looks beautiful though

I like that locust. Nice wood. Where do you get the carbide tools? I like those as well.
@SJWoodworks9 жыл бұрын
Two Tracks Bow & Wool The carbide tools are available from a lot of places. The ones I generally use are from Harrison Specialties, here: www.harrisonspecialties.com/simple-woodturning-tools-accessories/
