I'm gonna try some candlestick holders but leave out all the complicated math for finding centers! I think I enjoy your videos so much because your demeanor is so much like my own. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos!

I need to make a poster with my center-finding formula on it. It would be a big dot just slightly off center. The caption would say "close enough". :-)

Hello John, I like them very much! its a very well demonstrated video on making them.Congratulations on 5K plus subscribers ,it is richly deserved my friend,I am not keen on video editing either, I tend to forget how I did certain bits and it usually takes me quite a few hours to get it somewhere how I like it.Many thanks for sharing ,All the best Bram

Thanks, Bram. I need a camera operator and video editor that I can pay with candlesticks... or shavings. :-) After a few hours of editing I still don't like the finished video most of the time.

"Awesome beard = blocked camera" ..... LOLOL!!!! ..... my awesome beard used to get in my mouth at 60 mph ridin' in the wind listening to 2 drag pipes on the blacktop, .. good times. I felt better in those days, and I pray that God will continue to bless all of us, my friend. Another winner! Kent

Roundabout Woodworks LOLOL!!! Yeah man... !! I gotcha. I appreciate the hints concerning the grinds on the tools very much. I had wanted something to help me do finish work on little beads and coves so I picked up an 8 mil. spindle gouge with those other tools for small stuff, now that was ironic, (just in time to see you turn these holders, I think that they are going to be really nice. The wood for the handles turned out to be "Red Maple" and hard as a rock, I turned 1 of them yesterday, they are beautiful. Keep filming pal, anyone that doesn't like your videos is crazy. ;-) !!! Thanks again man, Kent

Have a section in your store called "seconds - almost perfect but not quite" and sell them at 1/2 or 1/3 price. Means you still get some return on the time.

Love the candle sticks. I do have a question for you. Have you ever caught your beard in the lathe? I couldn't help but to sit here and wait for it to get just a little too close.
@RoundaboutWoodworks18 жыл бұрын
There's nothing to catch it on. I don't let it wrap around anything as long as it doesn't get closed up in the chuck when I'm mounting a blank. I haven't done that yet, but I've come close. :) I wear a bandana now to keep it out of the way.

Less boring when you speed up... 15min to see you turning while it could be only 3, pffff...
@niklar557 жыл бұрын
Liked your video, your philosophy is similar to my own, BUT you should really get a hairnet for your beard. History is littered with people who have had their hair and skin ripped off by rotating machinery, usually women. The rotation produces a vortex of moving air that can and will suck any loose material into it, and if it does, it will grab, and wind your face off! Getting your face pulled into a rotating piece, is likely to do more than give you a just rosy complexion. Be safe, not sorry. Sorry is too late already!

Nice enough work but less chat and speeding up would relieve the boredom
