@@JackMackWoodturning there are a lot of abandoned mines here in AZ, but many are not easy to access, some are one private land, of course you do not know until someone tells to leave. These is one of two we can get too that are fun to explore and even investigate too. However, one was a mercury mine, so not a good one for rock hunting. The other one is a really cool place. The main shaft is about 1400 feet deep. They mined copper, so lots of really cool mine tailings there. There are some smaller mine around we visit now and again. We do get some really cool stuff, geodes, fossil s, quartz and sometimes we have found amethyst and dragon eyes (really cool red semi prescious stones, deep red color)

It is beautiful golden creamy in the end, but several times during the turning, I could've sworn it was a Yukon Gold potato.

@@JackMackWoodturning Just the usual for my area: Corn, beans, squash, peas, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, carrots, *one* zucchini plant, and lots of flowers to bring in the bees and butterflies. Need to replant the rhubarb in late summer, since it got mowed down by accident, too.

I like it. The grain reminds me of old growth Douglas Fir from Oregon. What makes the spots?

Very nice! I would like to know more about that hollower you used, such as what type, where you got it, etc. Thanks!

Yeah no warpage or cracking. Thin and even walls along with drying as slowly as possible and I very rarely have any issues. Did you find it a little pale for yew?
