This is the Follow-up video for the Vacuum chuck video I did Friday.
Vacuum chucks are a great way to hold work pieces on the lathe.

Hi I'm Carl Jacobson from the Woodshoptv, I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together.

Very cool, Carl. I need to make myself a setup like that. Then again, I also need to get a lathe with a hollow headstock. Someday...

Why do you set the tube in a shallow groove as opposed to fitting it to a longer tenon (double thickness of MDF)?

Thanks for the video Carl. Is that a threaded baring you put on the end of the lamp rod. If so, do you recall where you got the baring from. Thanks for all your help with your great videos.

Good thing about the plastic tube is that it works as a vacuum booster or accumulator I think, I would recommend to use a Quad-Ring instead that green foam.

Carl, if a cup was made for the headstock and tailstock would it hold an object without a vacuum system? Looking for something that will enable me to turn a sphere.
