Redheart is one of my favorite woods. And this piece is outstanding. It's great figure but subtle and love the color with the bits of yellow sap. The shape is very nice with softly rounded profile. Overall an outstanding piece of work. You done it proud. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay healthy.

Lovely wood. I had to look it up, and found out that it will change to a much darker color if exposed to UV light. That explains why my foil's hilt that I made from purpleheart is now a deep eggplant color.. Thank you, Rod. Semper Fidelis and God bless right back to you, my friend.

i’ve been meaning to say i really appreciate the thought that went into the design of the foot to encapsulate the medallion. i LOVE the shape of this piece as well of course the wood. there’s such a richness to these red colours i’ve always been drawn to. they say people see colours differently, i’m definitely drawn to the warm fiery red of this piece with that lovely flash in the wood too. ❤️

What mastery of your tools! A joy to see you work. Very lovely red wood color on this bowl, superb job! Its a pity that so much of the interior wood of this exotic species is wasted in shredding. Is there a way to cut that center chunk out somehow? Using a hole saw, or using up the shredded saw dust in resin casting? Such a pity to waste it. The sheer simplicity of this bowl allows the rich color to come through beautifully. Lovely work!

That's lovely! The deep color with its touch of golden gleam works better with the more rounded top, I think.
