I've been watching your channel since the beginning. Thinking about it, while I love boats and boat projects, I also realize part of why I keep listening is that there is something soothing about your voice and how you present your work. Thank you. Also have to say your 2nd best ideas after of course purchasing the steel boat is purchasing that huge floating platform! Made all the difference for making liveaboard and boat upgrade come true! Merry Christmas!

The door frames look great and your craftsmanship using basic tools is awesome. Where the closed door meets the boat structure you may wish to add a strip of something like a foam seal for windows to add that little extra seal for that area. It’s simple enough to add, but it makes a difference overall as that is one area that never seems to seal off very well in homes, let alone on a boat on the water. The inside of the two doors look great and in time hopefully the outside cleans up to look just as nice. That’s a project for summer months, but I’m sure it’s on your list somewhere as a need-to-do when there’s time (and funds) to do it.

Excellent progress. If you can't get to the exterior doors until next year you may want to do a light sand and put a coat of sealer on them. The inside of the door at the bottom joint looks like it needs attention.

Hi,when I was an apprentice marine engineer many years ago,I was taught that there should only be one and a half threads showing through the nut when it is tightened,less bolt to catch things on and less to corrode there by making it easier to remove.Great videos and very neat work .I like the way the work is progressing ,brilliant.cheers Roly 🇬🇧.

I'd place a bit of weather and accidental hitting protection in front of the new shelf and equipment, ie a transparent sheet of Plexiglas.
@Total_Egal3 жыл бұрын
defenitely like a wodden door with some smaller plexi windows for the displays to show trugh and maybee a hinged little piece for acess the switches hanged with some stainless steel "Klavierband" on the right side. so even if its opened the door gives protection from rain or wave splash trugh a open door it would also cover the realy blinding blue color of that thing :P would also take a look below the shelve to seal the gaps with some silicon to not get a splash into it from below dont forgett you also need ventilation openings on the top to vent heat. could be positioned in the back side of the topplate

Brush seals may keep most dust out and reduce heat loss a little but if you want good water and heat seals add silicon strips below them(so you can not se them) also, I think you would regret not doing so eventually. Verry nice looking door frames, don´t forget the panels below the doors and to put some insulation there also. Good video.
@Zagitta0013 жыл бұрын
For future reference if you'd like to avoid the ugly nuts sticking out of the front panel (1:47) you can drill holes partially through the wood and hammer in some pronged nuts from the backside to provide you with a nice metal thread to screw into.
