The Wood is Not Black it is between a dark Brown-Red
@drx1xym1543 жыл бұрын
@@oghamster4520 -- even still, putting 2+ coats of epoxy on there and then FLAT black pain would or should make some of those seems disappear. Yes, the wood is dark brown with some red. There is less light down there - so it would be darker, anyway. Also, while we are at it, they prob need some heat and sound insulation since the engine is right there.

First of all, thank you for this jazzy music. I loved it ! Then, if I may say so, you first said that you didn't know anything about boat refiting a boat (actually, your boat is exactely the same I'd love to buy for my project : Paris to Istambul by the canals and rivers, and back by the sea, including Greece, Madedonia, croatia, Serbia, Italy and Corsica). But every move, every thing you're making has obviously thought, and fits perfectly to the objectives. You're clever, man ! You're working as a King ! Every act creates a ripple with no logical end. That's why I'll help you with a kofi, as you have a dream and deserve to realize it. No dream may not be smaller than others, dreams are made to be lived. Bravo again.

This boat is going to look like brand new again. Absolutely great job, you will enjoy it for many more years to come. It it is not to moist out there you could get away with not sealing the edges of the panels, but if you have time I would do it. It will keep the plates in good condition and save you a lot of work in the future. I followed your build from the beginning, now am almost getting to the point where I want to start a project of my own (lol). Looking forward to your next video.

You should seal all the edges of your floor boards with marine epoxy in order to stop water ingress. Cut edges in multilayer engineered ply such as what you are using are very susceptible to water. After you epoxy the edges, it is a simple matter to sand and paint them, providing a very waterproof barrier and attractive edge. As others have suggested, I would also add some damping strips between the boards and the floor framing to keep out some of the creaks and knocks as the boat moves and flexes underway.

**Tip on towing other boats in the future.** While your friend's boat was less length than yours, always position your stern (the boat conducting the tow) behind the towed boat's stern about one or two meters. It will give you much better maneuverability. Nice job on the restoration.

Have you thought about using a cut off piece with a factory edge that is perfectly straight, to clamp on the piece you are cutting for your jigsaw to ride against? It will allow you to make very straight cuts. Just a trick I have seen used on several construction sites by carpenters.
