I just bought an older version and didn't even know how to open it up. Your video and explanation got me up and running. Thanks

I have a question on the sliding fence system. I just got my saw together and it works great except for the slide. I release the lever but its very difficult to move back and forth. I have the fence lined up on the colored tabs, but someone has to hold the saw in place while I force the slide to move into position. I see your just using your finger to move it around. What I am I missing?

Thanks for watching. The only thing I can think of right now is the tension rods that go from the lock lever to the sliding tracks. If you look under the right side, at the end of the lock lever, you'll see a cam and a rod going to each sliding track. There are tension adjustments on each one to set the amount of tension going to each track. If they are set too tight, then there will be tension even if the lever is in the unlocked position. That's all I can think of right now. If I think of something else I'll let you know. Happy Woodworking!

Any issues with this saw ? Mine would not cut all the way thru the board, but got hung up for some reason, this was right out of the box. Any idea why?
@julianlucero5423 Жыл бұрын
Normally that just means you’re not getting enough power to the saw what battery were you using and what kind of wood were u cutting
@julianlucero5423 Жыл бұрын
Could be wrong blade for what you’re cutting could be wrong battery size could be strong wood could be a combination of these
@happywoodworking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. If the fence is not square with the blade, it can cause the board to jam between the fence and the riving knife. The riving knife itself can be adjusted for square as well. Check those two things first. Happy Woodworking!

By chance have you found a way to "tighten" the rip-fence such that it won't drift during operation? Thank you.
@happywoodworking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I haven't had that issue yet, so I haven't tried it. I'm pretty sure the tension on the tracks can be adjusted. There looks to be adjustments and jamb nuts on the tension rods where they meet the cam at the end of the fence locking lever. I'm going to look into this some more. Happy woodworking.

I have a couple questions. I have this saw. The problem I'm having is the fence drifts. Is there a way to tighten it down? Also, when you're talkign about the three pegs for the fence, can you elaborate on what each position does?
@happywoodworking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. The black pegs allow for a right side rip up to 20 inches, the white pegs allow for a right side rip up to 30 inches, and the yellow pegs let you rip up to 17 inches on the left side of the blade. It looks to me like the tightness of the fence can be adjusted. I've never had to do it, but I think I'll figure it out and maybe make a video about it. Happy woodworking.

I used metal tape on my miter gauge to tighten it up in the miter slots

One question does the blade have an adjustment to square the blade with the table if it gets out of square? I have one now that does not so basically the table saw is junk because my blade is out of square
@happywoodworking2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Just to clarify, is your issue occurring when making rip cuts or cross cuts?
@darrellwhite98082 жыл бұрын
@@happywoodworking yes it is a skil table saw and the blade is not straight with the table where your miter piece slides up and down when I measure from that to the blade from one end of the blade to the other end I have almost an eighth of an inch difference and from what I can see there is no adjustments so I can turn the blade to be true so when I run my fence up that blades 1/8 away from the fence when the fence is square through the table if you can follow all that I said.
@davidphan70 Жыл бұрын
can you explain how to use this For thin materials use the fence on the left of the blade. Fold down the thin fence to allow use of blade guard. Subtract 2 inches from the scale for accurate measurement.
@happywoodworking Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I usually just rip thin materials on the right side of the blade. You just have to move the fence to the last set of pegs on the right so the workpiece will have support. Happy Woodworking!

Thanks for the very helpful details on how the slide works. Btw, it looks like you have a newer version of this saw. Older versions don’t have the yellow, white and black peg system so you have to measure each adjustment and align the fence for each cut. Your saw is far preferable!

@@happywoodworking This is exactly what I was looking for......ALMOST/ sadly I have the older version and fight constantly with squaring my fence. Do you know if there is a way to true up the old fence for easier operation or maybe able to change out the fence system to this. Thank You

Can confirm - I have the same (old) version. It also came with a miter gauge that it was practically impossible to mount a sacrificial fence on.

Thanks so much! I started trying working a couple years ago also and this saw and the Kobalt miter saw were my first "big" purchases. Could you recommend a blade for 65% ripping and 35% cross cutting?

This is the blade we have been using and it works great for the scenario you described 🙂 www.diablotools.com/products/D1050X

Do you know how to trouble shoot It? Mine won’t turn on, It was stuck on a particle board when first started cutting
@happywoodworking Жыл бұрын
The first thing I would do is to unplug it for a bit, then plug it back in and try again. If that doesn't work, there may be a fuse in the switch box that has blown. I've never had it apart myself, so I don't know that for sure. Thanks for watching.

Russ can i use dado head on this table saw?

Yes, 8" X 1/2" dado stack or smaller. Lowes' product page includes the owner's manual in PDF....

I am assuming you can. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to soon. The only issue is the insert plate. You will have to find one with a big enough slot to accommodate it, or make one of your own. Thanks for watching, and happy woodworking.

I’ve always been impressed with this saw in y’all’s videos! A lot of the things you showed look very similar to DeWalt job site saws, and it makes me wonder if thats who actually makes your saw! 8 or 9 months ago I bought a DeWalt DWE7491RS saw, but it never occurred to me to see if the fence can be positioned left of the blade! That’s really been a good performer for y’all, and a great overview video! Thanks guys!

Hi Russell I have this exact saw. It is absolutely wonderful. All new saws need to be tuned up to make sure that the blade and the fence is in line with the miter slots, as well as setting the riving knife inline with the blade. I use an Incra Miter Gauge instead of the one that came with the saw and a zero clearance insert most of the time. I also use a higher quality blade than the one that came with the saw. I also noticed that the saw looks identical to the delta 36-6023 10 inch Table Saw except for the color. I think that the parts are also interchangeable. They must be made in the same factory.

Good to know! We will check out that miter gauge. Thanks for the tips ☺️

I have the kobalt, jobsite table saw too, Right out of the box whatever I would try to cut would get hung up and not go all the way thru the blade if this makes sense. Any idea what would cause this to happen?
@PhotographyByLenny Жыл бұрын
@@pa.fishpreacher6166 Was it getting hung up at the riving knife? The riving knife has to be perfectly in line with the blade. If so, I can email you the instructions on how to adjust it. Let me know. I can send you the link.
@pa.fishpreacher6166 Жыл бұрын
I would say yes, that is right about where it got stuck. I could not even force (which isn't suppose to happen anyway) it thru
