lol at the end of the video, when you held up the comparison between the white & black, on the white 1 there was a silly whimsical looking man's face, with the expression of indifference which made me chuckle & HAVE to comment! @@Julie-ik1pp Just like other finishes, but the colors are what I love about them. They come in powdered, or liquid form. Mix the colors you want, and wipe, or brush on prepped wood like you would any other finish. The colors look amazing just on all pine , even 2x4 , 2x6’s and so on. With every coat the colors get deeper, and dry fast.

Thank you Wes for taking the time to show us something new and exciting, I really love the blue with the white glaze, would you recommend it for a kitchen though? I want to freshen up my whole kitchen, but as yet I am undecided on a practical color. I am scared to go too dark as the kitchen does not get enough natural light, also hesitant to go too bold like the blue, for fear of being bound by the color too much. I'd love to get your input on this. Thanks again for your wonderful content, I really appreciate it keep safe from Mitzi in South Africa

The one that you had already done, perhaps to enhance grain further you can block it with 40 or 60 grit. Perhaps instead of a paper towel on the face, try a California water jet (squeege) To allow for more buildup in the grain?

I really want to do this blue and grey to my bottom set and a white and gray to the top set for my new house on the lake. The entire house is trimmed out in golden oak cabinets, baseboards and even headers in the living room and I think this would be a magical difference. Originally my wife wanted to have glen guard or similar come in snd just dark all the stain to a more modern color stain and I really want some color instead. This seems like a good compromise of keeping the wood grain and adding some flair

The last thing on earth anybody wants is cabinets that look like a weekend warrior slapped some paint over them. I (and most) people want it to look as if it came from the factory that way and these don't, they are BETTER. Cerusing looks 100x better than just painting a solid color, 17:30... So even if you wanted a strong medium hue it isn't all in your face as a solid color would be, and looks so much more expensive. Just be sure the final clear coating is durable enough to stand up to grease removing cleaners which will no doubt need to be used time to time.

We’d, I am attempting to do this on my kitchen cabinets but not having great results. Can’t get ML Campbell products anywhere around here. What is the best type of primer. Can I use a “paint/primer” in one? Is it a regular flat type finish? Flat seems to absorb the glaze too much and I tried an eggshell finish paint over primer abc that seals the wood grain and just makes a regular antique finish, which I don’t want. I’m going on 3rd try and am running out of time to get this right!!

Dee Dee...unfortunately we have found that to be the case in some areas. Some of our followers have had success in getting ML Campbell. We are now in the process of experimenting with Home Depot paint products to see if we can get the same effect. Thank you for visiting. Wes

I can not find the ML Campbell glaze products anywhere in my area or online to buy. Can you suggest another brand that works the same and will give the same effects for cerusing as ML Campbell. One of your videos you mentioned that you use to use Benjamin Moore Glaze. Thank you and can’t wait to try this on my cabinets!

What ML Campbell product did you use for the blue? I have Ben using EU style waterborne PU but I don't like the finished mill thickness. Before I was using AcromaPro Matador but it's a PIA to use.

Hi Jenny...the heavy gain of oak is very hard to completely eliminate. I suggest using a product we have found to be an excellent cover for painting over pre-finished cabinets. Check out our video on Beyond Paint...this is a great product. Just follow the manufactures suggested process for the best results. Thank you for watching. Wes kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5zGpoKho7Krp7M

Pre-cat lacquer is not paint. Actual paint would give it a completely different finish. I'm seeing a few websites that also call it paint. Is it being called paint because of its opacity?

Hi Wes! Question, how do I know how deep I should wire brush? Meaning, can you wire brush too deep? I have done this but I feel like there are a lot of wire grooves that appear is the soft area of the wood now. Did I brush too deep? Thank you so much in advance - I truly enjoy your tutorials. :)

Tracy...I really don't think you can wire brush too much. I have scrubbed very hard on some of my doors and still came out with a great look. But consistency is more important than how deep the wire brushing goes. Thanks for watching. Wes

Maybe it could be replicated with a graining effect, using the graining tool that looks like a curved rubber stamp.

Wes - your videos are amazing - thank you! I have a question - my golden oak kitchen cabinets were painted about 15 years ago. Can I still ceruse them? If so will I need to remove all of the paint and get down to the wood finish?

Same here, except polyurethane, I think this only works if you get down to grain texture.
