@@Julie-ik1pp Just like other finishes, but the colors are what I love about them. They come in powdered, or liquid form. Mix the colors you want, and wipe, or brush on prepped wood like you would any other finish. The colors look amazing just on all pine , even 2x4 , 2x6’s and so on. The one that you had already done, perhaps to enhance grain further you can block it with 40 or 60 grit. Perhaps instead of a paper towel on the face, try a California water jet (squeege) To allow for more buildup in the grain?

I really want to do this blue and grey to my bottom set and a white and gray to the top set for my new house on the lake. The entire house is trimmed out in golden oak cabinets, baseboards and even headers in the living room and I think this would be a magical difference. Originally my wife wanted to have glen guard or similar come in snd just dark all the stain to a more modern color stain and I really want some color instead. This seems like a good compromise of keeping the wood grain and adding some flair

The last thing on earth anybody wants is cabinets that look like a weekend warrior slapped some paint over them. I (and most) people want it to look as if it came from the factory that way and these don't, they are BETTER. Cerusing looks 100x better than just painting a solid color, 17:30... So even if you wanted a strong medium hue it isn't all in your face as a solid color would be, and looks so much more expensive. Just be sure the final clear coating is durable enough to stand up to grease removing cleaners which will no doubt need to be used time to time.

Same here, except polyurethane, I think this only works if you get down to grain texture.

Can we use stain instead of glaze?

Stain instead of glaze has never worked well for me, but you are welcome to give it a try and see what you think. Thanks for watching. Wes

You should have sanded the green one down. I think that would have e brought out the other colors

Does the paint you spray on first have to be lacquer?
@WoodworkingWithWes3 жыл бұрын
Becky...the paint that I spray is not a lacquer but a primer sealer...then glaze and then clear top coat, usually lacquer. Thanks for watching Wes
