The respect shown to each other here is something we're missing today.

Jeff Barnett Consider another factor--in those days they chose a narrow range of people to appear in the media. Controversy was taboo. Now they look for the lowest common denominator and lots of bickering and shouting. "Energy" and excitement of a low form. What is taboo now is not a lack of civility bit rather any discussion that touches on the financial interests of the owners and sponsors.

Imagine a conversation between a left coast liberal and a religious conservative today. Now imagine they both give each other the respect that these two men give each other. Can't imagine it can you?
@genez4296 жыл бұрын
God revealed through the OT Prophets the answer to that. In the original languages, the Prophets could be powerfully sarcastic and stinging when the nation of Israel degenerated, much like we see with the liberal mind set today. There is a time for every season under heaven... Billy Graham and Woody Allen were in a different season.

Billy Graham (November 7, 1918 - February 21, 2018) was an American evangelical Christian evangelist and an ordained Southern Baptist minister who became well known internationally after 1949. He has been called one of the most influential preachers of the 20th century. [...] *Graham said, "Someday, you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God."*

Read Revelation 22:11-15. All men that includes Billy Graham. He has been Judged whether he has everlasting life was up to Jesus not him. He given much responsiblity had a great accountability to the Living God. Without Jesus Christ there is no rest in peace. If you are reading this this is your call of decision. John 8:24. JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIVING GOD. Shalom.

Its a good point about the civility. But it's all here! Really all the conflict we have today is all here in this short interview. Both men are geniuses and express their basic point of view in an appealing and articulate way. I love how Graham never says that he is personally against something, but points back to God's word. But the most amazing thing to me is how Graham never makes it seem like he's being pushy, but instantly capitalizes on any slight opportunity to share the gospel, in small ways and large. Actually watching this made my respect for him jump quite a bit - I used to sort of think that his main gifts were just a nice voice and presence. In this interview I can see just how perceptive and insightful he is, and how his spirit is driven to spread the gospel. Praise God! What an example.

It's not well known about this aspect of Woody Allen. In reference to drug use: (Press Read more) (1) He was asked from someone in the audience on a tv show, he hosted called "Woody Allen looks at" if he uses marijuana or drugs during an interview with Billy Graham. His answer was direct and to the point, , "No, I don't smoke or drink.", "I don't approve of the use of marijuana." 5:50 (2) I'm sure everyone in this sight saw the scene in Annie Hall where he was offered cocaine and the sneeze that came. (3) The character Annie Hall smokes marijuana and Alvy does not partake. (4) In the film "Manhattan" in a film studio, people at a film studio are drugging themselves out and Woody Allen wants no part of it. The point I'm trying to make is, he has saved people's lives by having done this.
