Yep that's about all it takes and with alternators in cars the Voltage regulator only feeds around 3 to 5 volts to get the charging done.

I may have asked this question before in one of your other videos but, what was the total battery life run time if you ran the project until the end of the battery life. my project will use a 12v car alternator, a 12v car battery, an ebike throttle and 2 bicycle sprockets. I also need to know a projected distance ,calculated MPH and motor RPM speed.

to power the electromagnet inside the alternator. with some modifications, you can swap it for a permanent magnet and you wont need the extra battery

Dear Friend I am working on a recycle project. I like to upscale old stuff. See my old Alternator from 1970! I removed the rectifier and wired out the stator winding. They are arranged in a delta configuration. It has only 70Ah. This was state of art in the last century. I addition I have bought a 48 to 72V Motor Controller which can handle Sensorless Motors. On the Rotor I have applied 14V and in use the rotor field windings consum 2.8A. On highest speed the system takes 300W and each stator phase takes 3A. So here my question? During the test without load I have disconnect the rotor current and the motor increased speed and the consumption went up to 400W. What could be the reason for this. Is my stator field not optimisés with my rotor field. I have a learn function on my 3phase motor controller. This piece came without any user manual! Thanks for the support. Merry Christmas.

to output power you will have to increase the rotor field by increasing the rotor current. For higher rpm this rotor magnetic field will actually slow the engine down. So if you decrease the field (current), it will run faster but with less power of course. Read some scientific papers on synchronous three phase motors and possibilities of controlling their speed!

Nope the coil can be used to control the torque like a motor of train , he can connect some resistors at top speeds to weaken the field and increase current + speed & reduce torque like a motor of diesel electric or electric engine.

DIY my Gm 1 wire self exciting 120A & a 105A & a 150A Ford alternators to charge 48v Lithium Battery Bank ? I have 3 High Amp Alternators to charge 2 Lithium 48v battery banks , the correct way to wire straight to the Stator gives about 2,000 watts current Ac I’ve metered , Amps I don’t have an Amp meter that high mine only goes to 10A , I’ve seen off the stator people have said you get Ac 115v & 90 Amps but I have not personally seen that on a meter ! I have a Moes Automatic & a 5KVA 230v Pure Sine Wave inverter 1 Phase 5 KW 96A or 3 KW 75A charge controller on both and a Square D breaker box to be a sub panel 100A , 8’ anodized ground rod to ground the second box I will jump wires from 4 circuits I will be needing power to if grid down ever happened 1 is 30A , the others are 20A x 3 = 90 Amp ! DOABLE ! I have 5 - 775 Dc motors & a few speed controllers , wire 1/0 , 2 AWG , 6/4 , 14/3 , 6 AWG grounding rod

Maybe using full stops and commas could make other users read and understand what you are writing. You may be getting 100V out of it, but under no circumstances you could output 100V @ 90A. Just do the math. I have also no clue how you think you can get 115V out of it. Why 115? Why not 111 or 123? Without regulation there will just be any output voltage, depending on your load. For the other assumptions you make: I would like to see a video of that....
