Additional storytime regarding Danny Trejo: He was a repeat offender, mostly selling drugs, and he remembered the last thing the judge said to him as he handed out his final prison sentence: "Again? Next time youre here give me a life sentence" and that was the wake up call that he needed to clean up his life and do something else. Quits drugs while hes in the slammer, once hes out becomes becomes a life coach to help other people kick their addictions. One of his clients though was an actor and because there was coke on the set where he was filming, he called Danny in a panic worried he was about to relapse. Danny drives down there and the director notices him: Obviously, as a Mexican man who grew up in East LA whos been in prison multiple times, he carries himself in a certain way. Director sees all of this, does that little hand gesture where your fingers make a rectangle like youre looking through a camera lens, Danny sees this and thinks to himself "Damn, what gang does this gringo ride with?" and after that Danny gets offered a part of an extra and thats how his acting career started

Cody obviously was pissed and Triple H thankfully somehow convinced Rock to turn evil and become the horrible bad guy literally beating Cody into a bloody pulp with a weight belt that had Cody's mother's name on it. But wait there's more! During the WWE Hall of Fame, Muhammad Ali's widow gifted Rock with "The People's Championship" belt, a custom belt for Rock to have just so he wouldn't be sad that he can't have a real world title. Then on the Raw after WrestleMania, Rock just congratulated Cody for becoming champion and left on a high note, because he couldn't just leave as a bad guy. @@GojiEmto be fair, the first night Wrestlemania tag win was acceptable. The whole stipulation was that Roman + Rock’s faction, the Bloodline, were fighting Cody and his allies. I want to say there may also be a contract that states Kenshiro is not allowed to lose any fights outside of Hokuto no Ken's original untouched story. Evidence of that can be seen in the Yakuza Fist of the North Star game where the first tome you fight Raoh you beat him in one try because its technically not the same story and thus Ken cant lose in it. I could be wrong but I remember rumours of that years ago

@nackskott126 ай бұрын
Oh that SUCKS lmao. I'm going to have to assume that's a Shounen Jump policy and not something the authors imposed. That fight between Ken and Raoh is so iconic BECAUSE of how much of a close call it is. In the 1986 movie they even play up how brutal of a fight it is, removing the whole threat from that scene is borderline sacrilege. Could you imagine a remake of Devil May Cry 3 where Dante beats Vergil in every encounter because Dante isn't allowed to lose?
@BreboVR6 ай бұрын
@@nackskott12 I havent been able to find concrete proof of this mind you, but it wouldnt surprise me considering the evidence it could potentially be a real thing. There's a scene in the Charlize Theron film Atomic Blonde where her character has to evacuate a Russian defector from an apartment being stormed by armed agents and winds up in a fistfight with one of them. She's at a noticeable disadvantage when fighting him- she has to use leverage or fight with whatever objects she can get her hands on, as she doesn't have the strength or mass to overpower him. She survives, but ends up believably bruised and wounded. Kind of sad to think that Dwayne Johnson couldn't measure up.

Exactly what he said. Mario Brega, Aldo Sambrell, Benito Stefanelli, Lorenzo Robledo, Joseph Egger, Gian Maria Volonte, Lee Van Cleef, Luigi Pistilli, Roman Ariznavarretta, Antonio Molino Rojo, Antonito Ruiz and Jose Terron all play different people. The only recurring actor who plays the same person is Clint Eastwood and even then he’s going by different nicknames each movie. If you look at the Wikipedia page for the Dollars Trilogy and look under the principal cast, you’ll see the character names are different. It's why ReZero is my favourite of the isekais. Main guy is getting effortlessly bodied over and over against crazy opposition, and has to work to overcome basically impossible odds. Everyone likes underdogs.
@rikowolfin49846 ай бұрын
True, most Isekai get ruined because they start with a great premise and ruin it by turning it into a shitty power fantasy where the main character can never be wrong or weak. Reincarnated as a Slime has the best contrast of this as one arc early on is basically written off as a cake walk that the main character could solve by literally sleep walk fighting the entire enemy force of pig men by himself if he wanted to, but during this arc there is one cowardly lizard man that fucks up and gets his people in trouble and so he goes to fight their pigman leader himself knowing he's probably not going to win, and the fight is a real drag out where he isn't just easily beat, he puts up a pretty damn good fight and it was the closest fight in the show to have any stakes for the longest time to the point the lizard man loses but proves he's a bad ass and making up for his mistakes by fighting as hard as he could. Then the main character solves the problem easily and basically humiliating both the evil pigmen and also the godlike computer that gave him the powers to begin with by saying they both suck at fighting before he beats the big bad, the lizardman gets a new color of scales after the main character gives him a name which should have "Powered him up" but does nothing while all of the other lizard women turn into shitty human cosplayers that are also supposed to be way stronger but its never really shown, and he is reduced to a joke character that is made fun of for being a weak coward that never does anything cool ever again... yet still that one fight made him way cooler than the OP Main character ever was or ever will be in my opinion because at least that lizardman got me wanting him to win in the end.
