Go watch Internet historian video about this, it's still is super relevant, and it shows a lot of things, super interesting. Also, there's no "rich kids" that were there, because according to the historian's video, no one bought the 12k tickets, that's why they couldn't make money to the event, 500-1.2k were the avg ticket price, not that expensive.
@ZhadoxFlamez5 жыл бұрын
Wait a minute, though. In the Netflix interview they specifcally say they sold out on all tickets and packages and these ranged from $400 to $250k. They even had a segment that they highlighted where they couldnt stop people from giving them money. They advertised RFID wristbands you could load money on and they had people calling them up to load money on the wristbands. They figure they have was that they got up to $800,000 of loaded funds. While there were regular people who bought tickets there was absolutely some extremly affluent people going to this event.
@theprofesionalist79275 жыл бұрын
@@ZhadoxFlamez Yeah, but Pat and Woolie said that the Netflix documentary was a biased one made by the same people who were behind this that wanted to spin it in a way that doesn't make them look scummy. Honestly because of this I guess I'll just double down on not using Netflix regularly since they apparently like to work with scummy people. That being said if their were trust fund babies there then it would be a little enjoyable to see their spoiled butts suffer. That also being said I hope that the people that scammed them eventually get what they deserve.

@@ZhadoxFlamez It's kinda like the Eron situation, 'im gonna lie i'm making money, and that will bait people into giving me money, but since i'm not making any, that is not going to cover our expenses. Again, the historian guy explains this very well.

You know the dumbest part is that if Billy had been smart enough to insure the festival he could have canceled it and filed a claim after that massive storm. Would have saved face and gotten at least some of the money back
@davidk74395 жыл бұрын
The dude's been a snake-oil salesman since the start, which focuses on getting connections, and then getting their money and cashing it out without them realizing they've been screwed over. The entire festival planning was done quickly and haphazardly. Billy invested mostly in marketing to ensure those considering investing that there was enough pull for the event. The problem is that they only realized how severely they underestimated the costs AFTER they got their money from investors. His entire idea of being able to profit was undercutting both investors and attendants at the start and pocketing the rest. Greed, and speed as well as negligence, were motivators for not taking any sort of precautionary measures.
