I’ve knit quite a few pairs of socks in various no nylon yarns including 6 pairs in Woolly Mammoth and I’m happy to report all 6 pairs are still going strong. Natural Sock was one of the first no nylon sock yarns I tried back in early 2019 and it’s so good. Like you I’m a pretty loose knitter so the Hearth Sock is a great addition for when I’m not wanting to knit on quite such tiny needles. For any sock knitters out there who read this that have not yet tried Emma’s sock yarns I would 💯 recommend that you give them go if you can. 🧦

Love that autumn is just around the corner (and the autumn colours!). I did a pair of socks this year in the Hearth Sock held double and it is a scrumptious outcome!! I just did a simple 2x2 rib sock and it's probably my favourite socks ever to wear. Just started a little PetiteKnit Friday Sweater in Hedgehog's Hide (natural sock) for my little boy for fall. He's very excited about orange :). You must be so excited to see such progress on the new studio!
@woollymammothfibres
@woollymammothfibres 10 ай бұрын
Oh amazing!!! So interested to hear this! I was thinking 2x2 rib as well, how many stitches did you cast on? I think when I held the natural sock together I think it was maybe around 50…
@daniellesimpson9958
@daniellesimpson9958 10 ай бұрын
I cast on 52 but then decreased down to 48 about halfway down the leg just to give a bit more room at the top of the sock. 50 would work too i'm sure! I used 3.0mm needles. I used contrasting heels, toes and cuffs but still had 9-10g left of the main at the end so could have maybe done just 2/3 of those. I have a size 7US foot (but i knit them a cm or so longer). @@woollymammothfibres

Hi Emma, I’d love to know more about your sock yarns without nylon. I’m afraid the heels would wear a hole if I doesn’t have some nylon content….. could be wrong, it’s just what I’m hearing around. I’m a beginner sock knitter! Worcester spun and woolen spun…I have no idea what is the difference, so that would be a great topic for me as well. Do you have some idea how much shipping your Christmas box would be to the US? I’m tempted, but shipping costs can be outrageous! Your approximate idea would be helpful. Love your busy blogs and the bread looks yummy indeed. Happy knitting! Gayle in Minnesota.
