Make sure rapid trigger is on .1-.3mm actuation point, and try raas strafing with the keyboard. THEN You'll feel the difference, for general gameplay in a game like apex its... w/e. Advanced movement however is where this thing shines. You can also play with the activation point to help with your super glides; iirc the crouch input comes 1 frame after the jump, i dont remember what treeree said this translates to mm, but he has a video on it which I recommend checking out.

I just got my Wooting around the same time this video was released. I've put about 15 or so hours into it on CS2. Like yourself I don't consider myself a god level gamer, I am SMFC/Faceit Level 6/10,000 CSR. So quite literally just an above average CS player. What I immediately notice is compared to my standard mechanical keyboards my inputs are noticeably more precise. I'm sure Osu players and Apex or Overwatch players notice the benefits more but I find that my counter strafe timings are so much tighter than they were on a standard board. Now I've been counter strafing in CS for over a decade on standard mechanical keyboards, I was the same skill level before and after my purchase, but gameplay just feels a lot tighter on the Wooting and I think for that reason alone it's worth it. Is it going to replace any of the high end custom keyboards I own? No, especially considering that no matter what I seem to do to it I can't get it to sound "good".I fully intend to keep it on my desk whenever I am playing any kind of FPS game but by no means is it becoming my day to day board for work and general usage.

What I noticed right away using the keyboard in csgo is it's not so much noticeable like you don't think OMG this keyboard is so much faster, you just don't think about the keyboard, what ever you want to do the keyboard does, you don't have to hover around the Actuation Point like you do with other keyboards
@nuttylmao
@nuttylmao 8 ай бұрын
I think you're right. Counter strafing is probably the situation where rapid trigger is most noticeable. I just don't happen to play a lot of strategic shooters where counter strafing is ultra important. And I'm not great with advanced Apex movement to take advantage of rapid trigger either. I do believe in the tech behind this keyboard, but I stand by what I said. I would upgrade my mouse/monitor before buying a rapid trigger keyboard, and I will take key feel/acoustics over rapid trigger. My hope is one day we will truly get BOTH rapid trigger + the great key feel of a true custom board but in one package. I just don't think we're there yet. Monsgeek's HE offering looks very promising though. It's cheaper, has a better layout and is fully aluminum out of the box.

Im on same boat, currently using razer hunstman te (1MM actuation switches) I really want try RT tech but at the same time I feel it will be a waste because I dont main cs anymore also cs2 doesnt give me too much motivation to grind. All that said after watching other reviewers beside this one everyone makes it beeing like a legal cheat tech or something. I think its the same as Dyac with zowie monitores that on paper its like the best thing ever but in real use its not that game change. Another thing that keeps me preventing buying it, its not having a tkl with ISO keyboard with good implementation of RT like the wooting the most close I know is the A75.

Love the video and effort put into it as well as talking about some things. I have been interested in this board but the sound has been sort of off-putting to me to just buy it. I would have either swapped to the aluminum cases they have now or the tofu redux and that is about it. Maybe burger mount. I'm personally one of those kinds of guys that likes a SUPER quiet board. So much so that I have tried out the Deathstalker v2 pro and fell in love with it when I was at the store but it was $220 and wanted to look at other options since I had heard making my own custom board was cheaper, only to have gone down this rabbit hole that lead me here for rapid trigger..

I'd take a look at HE offering from Monsgeek. $160 for a fully assembled, aluminum, rapid trigger keyboard with a better 75% form factor. Don't get me wrong, the Wooting is pretty awesome but you kind of have to hold it to a ridiculous standard because of how much it costs to buy the keyboard + alumum case + keycaps + lube.
@Kiobao
@Kiobao 7 ай бұрын
@@nuttylmao yeah, I don't mind spending the money for a good board since I rarely replace boards as long as it's great. The wootings just throws me off since I'd have to semi rebuild with getting the plate that's better for aluminum cases, the alumaze aluminum case itself and swapping to l45s rather than just picking how I want my board built. Plus I do prefer 75% with it being more quiet and HE. So I'll look into the board you suggested, thanks! Was also looking at the drunkdeer boards too.

As a someone that needs a 75 layout for the arrow keys I can recommend the DrunkDeer A75. It has the same functions like rapid trigger (if not more with down-and upstroke sensitivity) and gets constant updates for a much lower price. The customizability lacks a bit and it has a plastic case but ind ecember they're gonna offer a full aluminium casing for anyone who wants to mod it :D Great choice for lower price and same performance!

@@xWaxxy That is indeed true but if that would be the solution, the 75%/TKL layout wouldn't be so popular. It's simply a more comfortable layout that also enhances workflow in multiple ways without sacrificing so much more space. Drunkdeeer is getting more and more goated btw. with driver updates that make the performance of this board even surpass the wooting and Alu Case with customizability and modding options.

As someone with the Wooting 60HE you are 100% correct. Its a nice keyboard. The rapid trigger is super cool and the team at Wooting are amazing! For me the software in the Wooting also sold me as I use it on mutli computers via a KVM and being able to access it via a webpage and save it to the keyboard is a huge plus! IF you want an out of the box sick keyboard the 60HE is up there and I cant recommend it enough. If you want a custom THOCKY keyboard, go custom as the 60HE wont live up to what can be done. But let be honest, if your looking at $200-$300 keyboards you most likely have some disposable income and in the long run you'll just end up with multi custom keyboards anyways :P
@__vha

Not including switches and keycaps I think I paid about $300 for my Ai03 Vega which is by far one of the best boards I've ever built. All of my boards which total $300 with switches and caps beat out the Wooting in sound and typing feel by a long shot BUT I will continue to use my Wooting to game on since while the benefit is small, it is noticeable.

From a pure performance perspective the technology in the wooting stand on its own Like comparing DVD to blu-ray, one is just clearly and objectively a superior technology and while true some can't tell the difference, that is 100% a limitation of the individual and not the technology edit: I realize this space is probably more about modding than performance, I only care about performance and there is zero chance I end up with any custom keyboard beyond some lubed switches and other performance enhancing basic service and maintenance routines. The fact is that this technology enables things the old just can't and it baffles me how some don't notice.

A thought and a question. The wooting is an advantage in esports specifically-not other games. If you're playing Coutner-Strike, or Valorant then you'll have an advantage. If you're playing Apex, or Halo...not really. That said, do you have any tips on how to mod the wooting for less key wobble? I'm loving my stock 60he, but the key wobble is kind of annoying now that I've noticed it. I know almost nothing about modding keyboards, and appreciate the help.
@Alby911

The stem wobble can be lessened with switch films but Wooting don't recommend it, but it can be done if you get the right switch films. Otherwise just wait till the next gen of Lekker, or third party switches which should improve housing stability. Meanwhile there's a lot of mods you can do to improve sound and feel.

Why does the sound matter? Do both keyboards feel the same? Do you not like the switches because they feel worse? Spending over $100 on a keyboard is a tough sell any day, but I'm looking at this keyboard and agree with your value sentiment. The issue with me is that I only have experience with my super old keyboard and dont have the luxury of trying multiple switch types and customization to even know that this 60HE keyboard is bad.
