Great video. I agree with you and Tom about that fan connection. Love the comment about the over priced Worcester maintenance kit lol. Keep up the great work.

Good one. Haha, yes I always have to think twice about putting those burner seals on the right way round.

heat pumps are 3 times more expensive to run, but they don't tell the customer that. the fan connector I tend to rock top to bottom with a bit of slight side movement, rather than full side to side, seems to work for me. if the baffles have been out before, you can use long bent nose pliers (I have seen some make there own custom bar for removal), also once you have the kit, you have it - the brush lasts years, its given free on a free training course, or ask a sales rep for one :) I had a couple of bottom baffles sticking, a slight tap and it gave the 2mm needed for the burner to fit :P -- TIP - when refitting the banana, loosen the screw on the flue elbow clamping ring above the burner side, as they can tend to hit that, and will stop then from going in. nice job tho.

I really struggle with these sometimes….the fan plug won’t budge…burner won’t come out easily. Fan won’t spin back in. Considering they make the easiest heat exchanger to clean ( cdi) this one can be a right prick
@thementalgasman3tgasmainte3172 жыл бұрын
I much prefer the Worcester cdi quite enjoy stripping those down , this fan connection wouldn’t budge , get a little flat screwdriver on the Prongs it will release ,

Another good one mate. Overpriced cleaning kit or what. For a regular service, Would you normally clean the hex regardless of the negative fan pressure readings ? And therefore change the burner seal everytime you open it ?
@thementalgasman3tgasmainte3172 жыл бұрын
I generally give people the option of full strip downs on worcesters every visit but obviously seals push the price up , i recommend full strip down if its my first time on that boiler , I would say that a god 75% of repairs I go to are maintenance related , if I strip your boiler I know it’s not gonna break down during the year to a maintenance related issue, if you strip and clean boiler do a good job your setting the benchmark for other engineers who may attend after you chances are they will see the value in your workmanship and use you again
@macpatel78102 жыл бұрын
@@thementalgasman3tgasmainte317 certainly cannot disagree with any of that, especially how you say the red burner seals can fail.. the extra time and cost has to be worthwhile.

Another good video. How long did it take you.
@thementalgasman3tgasmainte3172 жыл бұрын
I generally strip and clean these in about 45-1hr with all tests and expansion recharge

I don’t mind them 2bh , just all compact boilers are harder to work on
