As of update 8.0.4 June 2019 this is one of the few ships that can still actually fight off air attacks including the near guaranteed first pass hits experienced with the CV reworks. I also noticed she is a great ship to bait BBs into exposing broadside to more powerful BB teammates. It happens quite more than expected with overeager would be killers.

Minotaur is a good ship. I just think that it, like the Zao, has started to get a tad power-creeped. Mostly in consumables. The Mino's low armor can actually be a benefit at times because it causes quite a few BB AP overpens, rather than in Zao and Worcester where if you get hit by a BB you WILL be hurting. A lot.

Mino's armor is prone to giant citadel volleys since it has such weak armor, with the Zao and Worcester they have 25mm plating which means that angling reduces the chance of being citadeled drastically, since it takes a lot of pen to go through 25 compared to Mino's armor.

Zao's armor is excellent, more prone to bounces and overpens than anything.

It depends on angling and on what's shooting at you. Zao's armor gets plain overmatched by BB AP shells that are 358mm or greater, regardless of angling. Against cruisers, their AP is ineffective when you're properly angled, but most are going to lob HE at you anyway, also making your angling irrelevant. Zao survives not by tanking shells, but by staying at longer range and DODGING. If you're playing where your ship is the easiest for the enemy team to hit, you have gotten out of position in the Zao. And yes, Minotaur can get citadel'd, but it at least has the RN super-heal to mitigate the more serious damage. Minotaur wants to be sticking to cover as much as possible, especially if it's a Radar Mino. Mino's armor is not something people are going to rely on.

I know a T10 atlanta when I see one, and this is one.. Going to play it to 1000 battles, same as how I did with Atlanta in NA. Not too long till I get Halsey as well, the 20% improvement on reload rate with confederate is going to make this ship even more amusing to play.

It is still not Belfast level radar, so combined with smoke. Worcester is fine with it. It is a tier 10 LIGHT cruiser without a smoke consumable and is super squishy. It's enemies are also gonna be t8-t10 DDs, so you should at least expect them to be at least somewhat good at the game. I see destroyer players constantly complaining about radar spam, and that is mostly because they are just bad. I remember the times when there were 5 Shimakaze's per team, all with 20km torps and no one was able to detect them. That surely was fun right?

After seeing this ship a couple months ago, I decided to use my long neglected Atlanta as a training ship for the Worcester, and I'm sure glad I did. like a lot of people, I couldn't figure out how to play the Atlanta right, and thought it sucked. Now then I've been grinding the hell out of it, and learning it's unique play style through trial, a lot of error, and watching Atlanta videos by Atlanta players that know what they're doing. I'm doing better with it, and my wins are increasing, while my defeats are decreasing with it. My opinion of the Atlanta is changing, and I'm realizing when you play it right, and learn how to use terrain to your advantage, the Atlanta can be a shitload of fun to play, especially when you find the right island to hide behind, and HE spam the shit out of enemy BBs, and DDs while they can't hit me. Things get really funny, when those enemy BB, and DD players go full salty in the chat box, and curse me out, or they threaten to report me. I love the taste of salty tears from enemy captains, and seeing how good a salt miner the Atlanta can be, I'm guessing the Worcester will be one of my all time favorite ships. I hope the Worcester stays the way it is at launch, and WG ignores the cries, and salty tears of those BB, DD, CV, and non Worcester players, that think it's OP, and demand it be nerfed, or removed from the game. This game would suck big time, if they nerfed the hell out of it, or removed it at the last minute, just to appease this ships haters.

I think this should have an 'emergency smoke'... Large cloud to basically conceal it at any speed nearly immediately but it's only active for a few seconds and the smoke is very short at well. It would be more interesting than sitting in smoke the whole time...

Im trying to choose between the Manual fire controll for AA or the AFT skill for my Wooster captain, and the thing is in this video you recomment AFT and in your Minotaur one you recommend Manual fire control? Wouldnt it be the other way around since Wooster has on more double AA turret with 152´s? The thing is I know there i a great advantage to take manual since it boost you long range aura, but when I tried to run that on my Minotaur I thought it was annoying to stop shooting at enemy ships in mid-knifefight to suddenly start looking up at the sky and click on squadrons to then try and re-engage the ship you are fighting and so on. With AFT I just need to hit the consumable key and then it on?

Go AFT for Worcester, as your range increases from 7.2k to 8.6k, BUT still control click incoming squads as it increases the AA accuracy on targeted squad.Man AA only benefits AA over 85mm, so you're better off with the increased range but REMEMBER to still ctrl click the incoming squads.

Flamu. Build your immunity against the throat virus and others. Take vitamin D (several daily), fish oil, move toward a gluten free diet by limiting wheat by eating less bread and switch to rice pasta etc. Prevention is better than anti-biotics. Good luck man. Atlanta would be a lot less fun if it had to play on the T10 maps instead of the T7 maps. The bigger, more open maps make this play style a whole lot less fun. This game is a best case with a CV, plenty of cover, and the team protecting the flanks. The lack of torpedoes makes you highly dependent on your team protecting the flanks. Is there any ship more dependent on the map and good play by your team than this? Looks a lot more fun in a division than stand-alone.

For Clan Battles I am having a hard time finding a place for this ship aside from a radar bot. It can stealth radar like a Minotaur but it lacks torps so it can't be a makeshift DD like the Mino can. As far as positioning, the way the high arcing shells work could open up some positions on some maps, but I cant think of any place that other radar cruisers cant go that this one can. It definitely has a place in KoTS but I'm not sure it will have a big impact in CB.

I do think leaving a class out of CBs does alienate a portion of the playerbase but the strength of the Carrier in a 7v7 format would likely be overwhelming. To the point that the team with the better CV would win most of the time. In the 9v9 KoTS setup it works because there is enough ships to limit that power to acceptable levels. The issue with the 9v9 format is that many clans would not be able to participate. Hopefully the CV rework will address this. Another option would be to allow a team to field 2 BBs or One carrier. Which really would change the dynamic of CBs. Not sure how balanced that would be, but it is an option.

That's sorta the issue though, now you are pulling a second ship for it to maintain effectiveness and you have to micro a position that is outside of radar but within the effective range of the Worcester. If your going to do that, it would be more advantageous to put a zao or hindy in smoke as you can make that dpm ball further away.

I can play Cleveland with great success in TX Battles. Not trying to be smart but Worecester most likely will be similar in playstyle to Cleveland and Radar Mino (which I am both playing a lot). So I don't feel that smoke is as importand as it is made out to be. Sure Mino has torps and they are a great asset but lets face it HE on such a spam ship is more than enough to compensate for that. After playing Cleveland I know for sure that Worecester will be able to go toe to toe with Mino simply due to the fact that it can hurt ships that are angled AND burn them down. I don't think that it will be a radar ship to counter DDs like DM but rather a DMG ship like Hindi that can also counter DDs but primarily hurt the enemy capital ships.

The fire chance increase is less useful than Superintendent. Also seeing as Concealment and IFHE are mandatory, and AFT is "Highly Recomended" You dont have much room for anything else.

Ya but that IF enemy T10 Atlantard doesn't hug the island and is exposed to get hit. But they all will hug islands just like that black fish in the tank ''kissing'' a tank glass. So yea, if they spot your BB, you are most likely dead or nearly dead. WG always had this troll sense of humor in matter of creating ships. Tho I dont know how much range this thing have. So for us BB's the best will be to camp long range and load AP at them. If just some of them look at me, my Montana and Conquerors deadly 419mm will wait.

I hope you realise that out of the tier 10 cruisers, Worcester has the worst fire chance. Also consider that Zao and Hindenburg both have 12 guns and they're 203mm. Not to mention all tier 10 cruisers pose a considerable threat with AP, while Worcester's AP is situational, as shown in this video. Besides, Des Moines are already firing from behind islands, as are minotaurs and Henri IV's.

Interesting how WG is adding more and more post ww2 designs into the game. They do realize naval tech during and after war is significantly different right, like all cruisers practically have autoloader guns after the war, and that makes their VT shells extra deadly to planes.... and also ofc the more advanced planes aren’t in the game because that will be the remake of history, where CV takes over the navy entirely.... WG u started something u can’t plug.

Worcester and Mino are very similar Worcester is a HE mino without smoke in return you get radar, The thing with mino is that if you are matched in a map with minimal island cover you could make your own cover with that smoke, whereas in Worcester you’d be a floating citadel for the enemy BBS and you’d be pretty much useless for the entire team, And if you’re caught in the open, in minotaur you would have a better chance of survival with that excellent Royal Navy heal, excellent manœuvreability and smoke, whereas in Worcester if you’re caught in the open then you’re pretty much as good as dead, In the Minotaur people would think twice before rushing you, and if they would you have 10 torps per side, whereas in Worcester if you’re rushed by a cruiser you’re dead and people would happily rush you as they know that you don’t have torps, Both have their own pros and cons Tbh it depends on your playstyle if you like island hugging and HE spamming and don’t mind the extremely slow shell travel time go for the Worcester or Des Moines (IMO it’s better with those 203 ) Else go for the Minotaur, Tbh I’m in similar situation but Minotaur suits my play style better but as I have the cleaveland I’ll be getting Worcester sometime later for competitive games like clan battle Hopefully this helps

Well, do you play for gaming or for history? If the later the Worchester is a must have, but Minotaur will be more competitive in almost every single way. 10km songle fire torpedoes and 2nd best aa damage and range with best in class stealth on top of smoke. minotaur is a dd with 10 guns and a citadel.

for me the main problem of this ship is the lack of skill required to completly deny a flank i mean you Can stay behind an island not fire at all and just smash hydro radar and def AA consumable you are still à threat to the ennemy team and if you have at least one bb with you nothing Can Come and try to kill you

I feel Minotaur is better at least I can make my own concealment with smoke and there is a threat of torps so, one would think twice before pushing into my smoke, but Worcester is better for competitive games imo

Tilson Thomas Minotaur is good but a lot of people can shoot in smoke these days. The Minotaur skill cap is really high now, and that is a problem honestly. It will be like CVs in high tiers - youre either excellent or really bad.

If a terri-bad "Below Average" rated player like myself can regularly place in the top 3 of the team in a Minotaur, I debate the idea that the Minotaur's skill cap is high. I can only assume the bad players haven't figured out how to hide behind an island, and that the smoke is just a crutch so you can either push into cap circles or to compliment your island cover so you don't have to worry so much about being spotted from the flank.

S Candor well, I can place regularly in the top 3 of my team in my Montana or Hindenburg too, that doesnt mean I'm actually that good (I'm not). Stats are often misrepresentative. I get your point, though. What I call a good player is someone who can make plays that wins games. Doing damage and making a match-winning play are two very different things. If you believe you can regularly steer your team - not carry them - to victory, then you obviously underestimate yourself. :)

Risheen Mukherjee its very easy to track and kill a bad mino player, a bad player would get in a spot with no place to backup, press and hold the left mouse button and stay there until he is radared/pushed or blind fired. If one plays the mino properly he’ll always have a backup plan and would think one step ahead of the enemy he’d change positions inside the smoke and look out for enemy guns pointed in their direction, and at the slightest hint of trouble he’ll change position, That’s how I play mine atleast and has worked wonders for me, the thing with Worcester is that it shines excellently when matched in maps and positions With medium to high island cover but it fails perform well on open map or a position with minimal or no terrain, With mino if the map has decent island cover then well you could save your smokes for the later game if the map is open then you could just smoke up and do your job while playing very close attention to the map and of course the enemy BBS, in case you’re blind fired if you keep changing positions inside the smoke you could get away for the most part and you could heal back most of the damage form an unfortunate penetration/citadel with that awesome Royal Navy heal. The Worcester doesn’t get the smoke and has insane shell arcs and doesn’t get the excellent heal of the Royal Navy so a citadel will ensure that you would be deprived of your abilities to fight back, the manoeuverablity isin’t great when compared to mino, and I feel that I won’t give up all these things just to have HE, Gotta wait and see how the other traits of Worcester like DEF AA and radar would be like when they get nerfed after CV Redesign and radar rework, etc as said by wg in their Q&A session

I did some research and actually it was originaly pronounced weorceaster it is very old word that was spoken over 1000 years ago back when the anglo saxons reigned the new pronunciation wuster is debatable because only in certan parts of england they say wuster in others its pronouced Worcester and in the us it is also Worcester so really there is no correct way of saying it it is to the preference of the user speaking on a more interesting level Worcester is derived from the word Weorgoran Ceaster. and the reason some people say wooster is because the french conquerors did not understand how to pronounce it properly and back then there were no rules about how it should be pronounced like today

Seeing that WG introduces more of these AA-monsters that reach (or even top) 1000dps with DefAA active, i expect that the upcoming CV/AA rework will bring massive nerfs to AA in general. Because they sure want to have the upcoming British carriers being played and upcoming Premium-carriers being sold. As it is now, with planes falling by the sky just by entering a certain area around a ship... i won´t bother playing CVs.

or you could just division up with an american light cruiser in ... any tier really. Its kind of nice to have a mobile "safespace" for your strike package. It lets you do other things with your fighters.
