I'll be honest it's nice to see you struggle a bit once in a while as well. As a non native speaker i often end up in these situations where i'm just aimlessly combining letters trying to figure out the word. So this was to me very relatable

It’s very cool how you do all your processing in your head. I have to type partial ideas in to see them. Sometimes I use x as a placeholder to let me type in downstream letters.

I do the same, using x as a place holder. It really helps me see the word and sometimes it's even been the right letter.

Even though i'm not a native speaker, and Mark is a much better wordsmith than me, i was able to guess flail faster, i consider this one of my proudest achievements haha.

This is the kind of word where being a gamer really helped me. Didn't do it yesterday but when I saw you solving, after plate I instantly got to flail. It's truly surprising to me - at times - how many words I only know through gaming. But then again; I heavily struggle with everydays words and especially animals other than "snake" 😂

In the glaur the nyala flailed and flaffed like an onion in a blaff. Turns out FLAFF, BLAFF, and FLAMM may be accepted words, but not FLAZZ or BLAZZ.

I got it in 4 with the very helpful second guess of SNAIL. I don’t use hard mode though so I almost always knock out all the vowels with my first two guesses

I got it in 6, after doing FLAIR on 5, even though I knew it couldn't be as I used an R earlier. Hardmode still allows you to repeat wrong guesses. Just the Yellows have to be present and the Greens have to be in the correct spot.

I very often see people in comments mention that they are not native English speakers, but come to think of it, neither am I, however I've lived in US for so long that English is my preferred language and I struggle (even if a little bit) with the language I knew since I was a kid, so my question is this: What do you consider your "native" language, the one that's most comfortable for you to use, or the one you learned first?

Don't worry, Mark, I'm pretty sure there are no words in the Wordle dictionary that you don't know! This one took me 5 guesses also: shirt, alone, plaid, claim, flail. And I thought about it for a while, but probably less than 4 1/2 minutes -- since that 3rd word gave me the essential bit.

I was at 6 on this one. My fourth attempt was “blame” - the only option I (thought) I had left after that was “flair” - It took a very nervous hand to enter flail after that. It was the only thing I could think of, and fortunately it was right 😮‍💨

The logic is incorrect somewhere. Llama contains 2 A's, but we know from Nyala that a 2nd A doesn't exist.

I struggled with this one. I got to the point of typing random letters to see what would be accepted. Apparently flava (as in Flava Flav) and flaxy are in a dictionary. After flailing in the dark I saw the light on my 6th guess. Swear>Match> Plank>Flava>Flaxy>Flail

You Did It at least! I wondered why you were so focused on not having more vowels. I was watching you and therefore not really thinking of more words either though... Until you had crossed off another "A" because you used 2 "A"s in the first word and then went back to "A"... I went on to "I" and even with your thoughts on "F" I wasn't near Flail (I was trying for other "LAID" words besides Plaid, which the "P" for was already gone)... Insstead of trying to guess the word every time, I will often use use a wqord with 5 new letters (even though it doesn't contain some I've already discovered) just to eliminate them, especially eliminating all the vowels so I have far less options to consider when trying to solve.

I ran guesses 1-4 through a word calculator and the only potential guesses you could have had were FLAIL and LLAMA. Glad you got it in 5
