Then one of the more tragic outcomes was what happened instead on her birthday at a formative age. And she is hilarious for sharing the story the way she did.

Or with some more emphasis on the work she did, so we expect her to say she got a bunny even more "And then when I was twelve, after all that work, my parents got. . .a divorce." The way she said it, I was just expecting there to be more. I was like, what does that have to do with the bunny? Did she end up getting two bunnies then? One from each parent? I was confused. But after reading some comments, I do get it, and I can imagine someone saying it in a way that we would all get it right away.
