I always felt so sorry for Worf whenever he dealt with Klingons. They always made him pay the price for keeping his honor, even though that's what they always praised but never had. Riker may have been his best friend, and Dax his wife, but I feel that Picard understood him best.

It's about Vertical Honor and Horizontal Honor. If I recall correctly, Vertical Honor is the Honor given to you by your peers. Like Gowron here believes it is honorable to just do this. But Horizontal Honor is what you achieve yourself, your own integrity so to say. This is put extremely simply.

Yeah, and used to view him as a dishonorable petaQ until the SECOND time he met him and he revealed the treason of Duras and his house... 😝 I mean, between Gowron and Duras, Gowron was FAR less sinister, but his outsider's ambition got way ahead of him, as did his power and inherent inner warrior, so Gowron really sucked, too.
